  2. Is it too late to sign up for this? Ive been meaning to come for a few years and am hopefully free this year! I don't know if I'm being dumb but I can see the date and the address but not the times. I'm happy to bring a few bits along. Cheers
  3. Think I'll have to drop into Andertons and do a test between the Digitech Drop and this for accuracy/latency. I will never need it much below dropping to D standard anyway but I've never been 100% satisfied with the Drop pedal...
  4. Thanks Pete. I guess I’ll have to take some of ours with us. Some of us use IEM, but i in particular need to as I’m playing keys without an amp. i can plug my IEM’s in to a small mixer but not sure how I’ll hear the others. Lots of workarounds but won’t know until on the night.
  5. Unfortunately, I can’t manage a full scale Rickie these days: the necks are too wide and the overall weight is too great (even the rare walnut ones), so that severely limits choice. The old 3000 series SS look like proper shorties, although they were not a shrunk down 4000 series, which is what would have appealed to me about 4030. However, I’m sure I could get my local luthier to make me a custom Rick-alike shortie, or even have a go at it myself, for much less than the 4030s are likely to sell for.
  6. 2012 EB MM Stingray 5 … in pristine condition comes with original MM hard shell case in great condition I can only see two small blemishes on the right hand side of the bass which are very difficult to even see .. tried to capture these these in the pics looks gorgeous with the white body, matching pick up cover and maple fret board Sounds and plays like a dream Price inclusive of shipping to anywhere in the UK
  7. If there's that cap, I stronly suggest you to replace one with a bypass switch pot. Bridge pu is unnecessary thin if the cap is there as always ON.

  9. Hey mate is this still available? cheers Sal
  10. Weird coincidence. On the day that it was announced G&L were no more, a scrote in France stole all The Beths's touring gear, including the G&L Fallout that Liz Stokes has been playing since the band started. They're all playing Fenders for the rest of the tour, borrowed off their support act.
  11. The G&L humbucker basses / active basses are ridiculously powerful. Really good instruments.

  13. Bass Centre Power Bass in Gold - Custom Ordered to Bruce Thomas Power Bass Spec - Precision Bass Copy This bass was a special order from The Bass Centre as a gold (you are gold.....aaaaaaaah!) version of their much loved Bruce Thomas Profile Bass. As SITE regulations were in full effect at the time of the order, a Macassar Ebony fingerboard was opted as a substitute for the Rosewood one that came with the Bruce Thomas model at the time. In addition, a matching gold headstock was ordered. This created a blessing in disguise in that the admittedly 'wanting' Bass Centre logo is not as visible as they opted for dark blue version. Unlike the Profile Bass, this one features a slightly flatter radius and a lightly oiled (back of the) neck which reminds me A LOT of Laklands in feel and aesthetics. In comparison to my Profile Bass, and this is likely a product of the ebony fingerboard, this is slightly more snappy proposition. It's offers more 'bite' than 'wooly' hugs on the sonic front. But, when you tame the tone pot down a bit, the woolly mammoth is returns and can be unleashed. It's a well balanced instrument. And it looks the part. More importantly, the playability is outstanding. This enjoyed a full fret level and set-up by Alberto Zioli and it plays like butter. Or margarine if that's your jam. This bass comes with a gig bag that is 'ok'. The bass that you'll be putting into the case, however, is outstanding. The instrument resides in East London. Collection is preferred although I can meet the new owner within the confines of the M25. In addition, I am happy to send the bass provided the buyer co-ordinates the courier.

  14. Played there earlier this year. I think they provided 3 monitors: right, left and centre on the stage apron. There is a sound guy there who sets everything up and operates it.
  15. The shīt sandwich worked very well, it's been accepted and, especially, assessed as my best mate, who is also a manager, is aware of all these inherent problems in the band. And what I said was pure honesty, so the compliments were real and sincere, which certainly explained why it worked. That said, I've been a medical advisor for years and know how to manage people's susceptibility, but only up to a point where it becomes useless, so sometimes (most of the time for me as I'm a bit fed up by the stupid politically correct period we're living) it's good to say the plain truth even if it hurts.

  17. You pick up the issue in your reply - it's not R&D but brand positioning
  18. Totally agree with you. I have dropped my ABM and the wooden sleeve saved me big time. Saying that, the all-metal cover looks damn cool in my opinion. I see they've removed the AGM model from their line-up, which is sad as they looked rather nice. Actually, they sold two similar AGM amps, one in a wooden enclosure, one in a metal one. Was that Ashdown testing the waters?
  19. post this on your social media and tag them hope this helps
  20. +1 for the AC Guitars Mule. I've managed to lay my hands on a couple of them, a fretted 5 and a fretless 4. Both of them were marvellous, and the fretless 4 really had that Rob Allen, mini Double Bass thing going on. Here's me noodling pointlessly on the fretted 5 >> https://www.instagram.com/p/Cj7-DXOA3NI/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link There are some lovely demos on the link already posted above too, https://acguitars.co.uk/mule/ Cheers, Eude
  21. This is simply one of the best P-Style basses that I have ever had to pleasure to play. The Bass Centre and Bruce Thomas really created something special here. The neck offers what I like to refer to as 'Goldilocks Realness' in that the neck profile (hence the name of the bass) is ideally situated between a Precision Bass and a Jazz Bass. This one is just under 41mm in width at the nut. As the original pickup (which sounded great) became microphonic, I replaced it and the guts with a much improved EMG Geezer Butler setup. In addition, and this is a 'quirk' for all the Profile Bass models - the original s/p forced the pickups to be misaligned. I got a replacement which addresses this issue and all the polepieces are where they should be. The bass balances beautifully and, more importantly, sounds incredible. There's a growl and grunt on tap that responds beautifully to touch. More photos will be added in due course. The frets are in great condition. The rosewood fingerboard is lovely (and is thick in the slab stakes). And the truss rod has only had to be adjusted twice since I took delivery of this bass in 2017. Collection would be ideal but I am happy to send this to a lucky new owner provided they co-ordinate the courier. In addition, I can meet within the confines of the M25. You can't say that I am not flexible. Currently strung with a well worn-in set of NYXLs (45-105). And it comes with a non-original but serviceable gig bag.

  23. Fender could have done all those things with a little R&D if they had really wanted. The thing is Fender know that their core market aren't interested in these things. Also G&L's market for Fender-ish designs with a bit more innovation is already pretty saturated, and I bet there's a fair few G&L owners who don't even know of Leo Fender's involvement with their guitar or bass.
  24. No, no push pull pot on this one
