  2. that's the numbers i recall
  3. Oh that's a shame, was that with matched sensitivity on the horn to compensate? Might work better with the smaller cabs, assuming they use the same HF driver, might have more leeway. Stacking speakers in mirror when vertical seems less than ideal on a cramped stage because it takes the tweeters lower. Plus they still don't add entirely coherently. Splitting hairs on bass guitar I guess. But then that's what really good speakers are about!
  4. Fran from Wave Pictures is famous to the people that turn up to see them 🤩 He has been playing the same old hofner every time i've seen them, which is more than any other band I've seen over the last decade. He's a fine player and the band are a phenomenal 3 piece. More people should go to see them

  6. Bravo! Is that the first ever use of "antimacassar" on BC? Weirdly enough I had reason to use the word antimacassar only this morning. They're like busses!
  7. Running a second no horn cab below adds 6dB to the low frequency sensitivity. For it to sound right requires turning up the HF horn by 6dB, if it has that ability. Lobing isn't an issue if the two cabs are built mirror imaged, so you can set them with the HF horns adjacent rather than separated. I don't see manufacturers doing that, for inventory reasons, but it's simple enough if you build your own.

  10. I am probably letting too much out, but this was something that @stevie @Phil Starr and I have discussed in the past and on a trip to LFSys Worldwide Headquarters, we tried it out on a couple of identical cabs, with no horn on the lower cab but with all else the same. It did not sound that good.
  11. Hi Karabass! Thanks for the Question. Any fretted 4-String Bass can be interessting. A 5er without a super broad Neck would also be interessting.
  12. The knob directly corresponds to the "ENV OUT" CV jack that right is next to it (in the simplest terms, the more the red LED next to the ENV switch goes bright, the closest to 5V the voltage in that jack goes). Plus let's be honest, it's primarily an Eurorack synth pedal made by a company that does a very consistent design, and that sometimes forces them to render form that thwarts function. 😁 But I absolutely agree. This pot would be way easier and safer to use as a regular one.

  17. I was lucky enough to get an unlined 2EQ fretless Stingray , I think it was 3 years waiting before one came on the market The Bass was made in 2002 but was hardly played I strung it with Chromes for maybe 3(?) years and this year it's on GHS Precision Flats Never a G string problem , never a "mix" problem takes light Overdrive and Compression very well all in all a top Bass
  18. It's that bottom-end reinforcement. I've wondered before with a good FR cab like the ones LFSys is building, whether rather than stacking two complete cabs and accepting lobing there's sense in having the pad on the compression driver variable, so you could switch that out to pair with a second, (cheaper) woofer-only model that just had the low-pass filter rom the crossover. Of course that depends on the tweeter using a pad and having the headroom, but they usually do. Even without a second cab model, you could potentially make the comp drivers switchable to achieve the same outcome.
  19. Not heard of this builder before, lovely stuff indeed: https://www.capursoguitars.com/prodotto/spiral-deluxe-6-strings/ Think this is the above from their website, what a cracker of a bass. GLWTS 👍🏻
  20. Hi all, I had previous purchased 2 Wal Basses (Mk I & Mk II) on Basschat. My two reference members are WalbassUK (Paul) purchased his brilliant MK II, and Anthony Lewis (Tony) buying his passive MK I. I am selling my custom made Barcus single cut, 5 string (passive) with custom made Wal inspired humbuckers . Gregory Barcus is the brilliant Luthier from Minnesota, USA that handmade this custom beauty in 2013. He uses my bass as his profile pic on Facebook (scroll down to find pics of my bass before and after completion). https://www.facebook.com/BarcusBasses/photos His craftsmanship is out of this world! I am parting with this beauty since I am playing my 4 strings all the time, and the Barcus stays safely in its original, well padded gig bag. The woods used on this bass are gorgeous and give tons of resonance. It has a reinforced , dual truss rod and I never seem to have to adjust the neck, even during climate changes. Built like a tank, but without a hefty weight. All USA made components. Super clean condition since I rarely played or required a 5 string. The sweet price included FREE shipping across the pond which I am sure you know how PRICEY shipping is, especially for a bass from the USA to the UK. It will be fully insured and very well packed. The FREE shipping only is honored by paying the original asking price, otherwise the buyer would pay the ship cost. Thanks for looking!

  21. I hadn't noticed the Lego theme. The dimples on the top are for the second Basschat speaker. So I could run them together for a little more volume. I suspect that I wouldn't actually put them on top of each other but the option is there just in case. Now that I've seen that I might try and make the lego theme a little stronger 😊now sure how but il ponder on it.
  22. Yes... I associate her with a mustang too.
  23. Fellow Bass players...Clap your hands, tap your feet, and sing along with all the family.
  24. This is Love For Tender. it comes from the album Get Happy. The Attractions were going for a more soulful, 60s pop sound. The production of this album has been criticised - indeed Bruce and Pete were both reportedly unhappy with the recorded sound of their instruments. Fortunately nowadays we can remix any song ourselves and get virtually any sound we want to. As ever any comment or advice is welcome. Love For Tender.pdf
