(if you need post, then post is about £4) Cheers all
  4. I don't know if the XL letters were an acronym for anything. But the yeah it was the sandwich body; it had alder on the back half and the thin slice of walnut I think. I owned several early Czech/Euro that were solid maple, and the LX's just sounded different to me. No, XL was not 35", Spectors NS5 was already 35" by 1999, and LX's came out about 2004. Back then, the 94-98 dot inlay SSD NS5 was 34", and then changed to 35" along with the crown inlays and SS logo in '99.
  5. So Roland are re-inventing the PiPedal.

  7. I'll bring something. Fancy bringing stuff people will think is shite but sounds killer.
  8. I'll bring a Sei or two, an Antoniotsai, maybe the Esh Poseidon V, a BC cab or two with amps to match (TC BAM200 and Tecamp Puma 900 should do), maybe the Barcus bass and the Shuker if I've got it back from Jon by then. And if something interesting happens to the OLP Tony Levin, I'll bring that too.
  9. Was listening to the Rokonteurs episode earlier. Quite poignant knowing he's gone 😟 I was never into The Stone Roses, but I liked playing his bass lines (in the same way I wasn't into disco but love playing Bernard's lines). In the 00's the band I was in used to play 'I am the resurrection '. That opening bass riff always got a great response.

  11. Lovely bass, if i had the bunsen I'd jump on this (not literally!).
  12. Oh that’s a gorgeous rig. Can’t remember the last time I saw one of the shallower 1x15 cabs, let alone one up for sale. 😍
  13. Just got back from watching braxton cook at the jazz cafe in Camden. Wow it was amazing. Braxton plays sax, flute and guitar. The sound was insane! What blew me away was the bass player. He was so so clear and you could hear every note he played in a 4 piece band. He was playing a 6 string MTD. Even the low low notes was crystal clear. I’ve never experienced such clarity before. Even when I was a performer and was touring with music artists I never heard such clarity from the bass. Literally 🤯. The supporting act was artist “Madeleine”. They was Really tight and on the same frequency with one another. Great bass player also. Had to Share my amazement of the clarity of every single note the bass player played. High or low. Didn’t sound or feel “modern” in the slightest.
  14. I wasn’t a roses fan but I did enjoy his work. Few effects and very funky He seemed like a nice guy too. Was he not also a member ?
  15. I think the John Gustafson and Alan Spenner eras get a fair bit of love and respect their way - and rightly so! For me, the first two Roxy albums can get overlooked, which is a real shame. They also hold a special place as they were pretty important records when I was first really getting into music - so not necessarily better, just my favourites, and I think underrated, from a bass playing perspective. But as I say, the whole Roxy catalogue is full of great bass moments, across all eras…
  16. I’ll bring a sire v7/5, an acoustic bass and a bh250 with a hard-hitting cab straight outta Compton … I mean Coalville though some days you could easily confuse them and an extension lead
  17. Certainly did! That was amazing, Hadrien is a monster
  18. I didn't come across the Stone Roses until a few years back. Instantly fell in love with their sound and Mani's awesome bass lines! RIP - you've gone too soon, but as a musician you achieved so much.
  19. I've had one of these from new (from GAK, RIP!) and I can vouch for their capabilities. Great cab, EXCELLENT price. Recently the bass gallery in London was asking a LOT more for one of these babies.
  20. Ah, the 1153. I have very fond memories of my old TE kit.
  21. Ned's Atomic Dustbin - God Fodder (1991)
  22. Hi, I haven't had these for long (I used to own both these pedals many years ago, but bought them for the second time recently), but a recent change in musical direction has now made these obsolete. I have about 700€ invested in these and I' m looking to get back 650€ for them which seems reasonable considering the ridiculous prices the seperate pedals go for these days. I'm selling to fund some new hardware and onboard pre-amp for my main axe, so I'm not interested in trades this time, sorry.. Shipping from Belgium. Sales pitch: Up for sale is this magnificant duo of rare pedals made by Spencer at 3 Leaf Audio. The Proton is his take on the Mutron III filter and it doesn't get much funkier than this! The Doom is a unique sounding fuzz that is extremely dynamic and can get supersynthy. When combined these pedals offer a wide variety of funky and synthy sounding tones that are used by lany great artist that are looking to get someyhing "extra" out of their pedalboard (think of Stuart Zenders work with Jamiroquai, Tim Lefebre, Janek Gwizdala,...) Due to the very limited production these are very hard to come by and they keep going up in value, so finding a set like these two is quite a rare opportunity. Both pedals come with the original packaging and can be shipped worldwide. Kind regards, Don
  23. Have a listen to 'Slade in Flame' with Jimmy Lea on bass (or any other Slade album with him playing). You might get a surprise.
  24. Im about to move into a new flat and basically need everything 🤣 so a few odds and ends will find their way up for sale. This is a fantastic pedal, a licensed version of the vaunted Bugbrand bugcrusher which is very expensive. Its a sample rate reducer with clean blend and one of the most musical ive ever tried. It took me ages to find one used, but i lterally use it on two tunes with a band that rarely gigs, so up it goes. Its in fantastic condition with a lovely sparkly silver finish, its got velcro on the bottom, no box unfortunately. £95 incl UK only delivery
