Tech 21 Sansamp YYZ Geddy Lee pedal in mint condition Includes instructions and sticker in correct tin box Wanting to streamline and simplify his gear for new projects, Geddy Lee partnered with Tech 21 to design a signature rackmount SansAmp, the GED-2112. This challenging collaboration involved distilling a boatload of equipment into a single rackspace. Challenging ourselves, to bring a super-compact, portable alternative, we further distilled the rackmount into a pedal format. The SansAmp YYZ offers Geddy’s core sound and the versatility for many different styles. All analog SansAmp technology enables you to record directly and enhance previously recorded tracks. For live performances, the YYZ can drive a power amp and speakers, augment your existing amplifier set-up, or run directly into the mixer of a PA system. Mix control to blend the ratio of high-end studio clean and dirty bass tube amp tones. Tight button to add definition to your notes in cleaner settings and make distorted tones snappier. Drive adjusts the overall amount of gain and overdrive, similar to when the output section of a tube amp is being pushed. Active 3-band EQ. Master volume. Operable with 9V alkaline battery (not included) or optional DC power supply (Tech 21 model #DC2, #DC4 or #DC Postage included in price Tony

I love his playing so much. Was as big a shock as hearing Jimi Hendrix had died. He always added so much but never got in the way of the song. Thank you Danny.

Hardly, the Ibanez Axestar AXB50 was released in 1985, that was headless.

Thanks very much for the info. I've been putting it's through it's paces the last day - it's a glorious instrument. Incredibly easy to play and sounds great. I can see me picking this up before my PJ most of the time! It came with rounds, so I'll be getting some flats on it pronto. -
As above. Remember that your also auditioning the band so be confident, pleasant and unassuming but not a shrinking violet. It's a difficult balance but most people just want to work with others who are easy to get on with. As for the notes? Show a bit of spark, attitude in your playing like your really loving it. Make eye contact, show em your fun to be with on stage. Good luck.

Pickups! Bought the bobbins and cases from AliExpress - dirt cheap, arrived in about 5 days so not bad time wise. Originally wound to 6500 turns per coil, reduced to 4250 as they were a bit on the dark side. Mild steel flat bar from eBay, cut to length with the angle grinder, ceramic bar magnet between the bars. I think they sound great

Anyone need a PA amp? Usual excellent Crown quality, this amp has only had light use and comes in a Chord carry bag. Not sure what the total weight is, but the amp on its own is under 4kg, so very portable XLR inputs, Speakon outputs for most users, plus various other options as per photos As well as standard Stereo, the amp can be configured as follows: Crossover Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on Channel 1 and a HighPass Filter on Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. LowPass Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=LPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 1 at the frequency chosen. HighPass Mode (CH1=HPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a HighPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. You can also put it into 'Bridge' mode for seriously high levels of output (according to the spec 1.5kW into 4ohm) Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier to you at cost.

I think that is possible. A lower level Indonesian made thru-neck with Aguilars and crown inlays to replace the Ethos...

With a latency of 40 years for the both of them... I've been playing mostly headless fretless sixers over around the same period, so Ibanez and Dingwall are a bit late to the party, aren't they.

Here you go, just received a M6-5 stringer. Pre amp is the heritage model pretty much one everything they make except the Z3. Bass response is huge, possibly down to the pickup pairing, lots of headroom. 18V Knobs are the ones that appeared when the Z series was launched. Better than pure plastic ones i guess. String spacing is 17 to 17.5mm (best i could measure and guess...dont judge) Stanless steel frets. Three switches. Admittedly I havent looked too hard yet to find out what they do. One is pre amp on/off Other two? series/parallel/single per pickup (three way) as far as i can tell. Info is that readily available except AI generated boll0cks. Scale lengths are: B 35 1/4 E 34 3/4 A 34 1/2 D 33 3/4 G 33 String are ball end at the bridge and clamped by two quite small allen s at the 'stump' (unlike my Cort space 5 which has one larger allen bolt and one smaller per string.) 5 piece neck. Finish feels almost plastic like. not bad, but different.

MichaelDean started following Spector release new 'Icon' series of basses

I'd say in that context, the emoji would mean that you should keep your eyes peeled. I'm loving the looks of these (5 string Black Stain for me please!) and a neck through budget Spector would be off the chain. Really want to try one of these and I'm extra sad that PMT is closed now. I have to travel over an hour and half each way to a stockist. I have been looking for an excuse to finally go to @Bass Direct though...

Richard Jinman started following bassbags. RIP.
-
I called them yesterday as I’d ordered something online (only a small purchase) then read this thread. Seems the situation isn’t clear cut and they’re still trading although the name Bass Bags may be retired. I suggested the owner come on here and give his explanation as misinformation tends to fill a vacuum. I’m not suggesting there hasn’t been a liquidation btw as Companies House confirms there has.

I have just bought one of these beautiful bass guitars and I am VERY happy with it. My question to others who may own one, is have you tried flat wounds on it and if so, did it require a set up? Keith
