Love the look of this but for this coin id expect at least the bad-ass bridge and a seymour duncan QP in it ?

A cynical money grab that has nothing to do with Steve Harris in colour, pickups or hardware appointments. It's just a standard P Bass with a silver/mirror scratchplate.

Has `Arry ever used a black P-bass - not that I`m a major fan or anything but only ever seen clips of him with the blue or white ones.

I know it is "limited", but it is impressive that Fender have elevated the Made in Mexico range to £1,700.

Around ‘81 he used a black one, so appears it’s based on that. But still, no thanks. The price is nuts.

Yep, this is the one I referred to....but it's got a 70's TV 'Fender Precision Bass 'logo, so that's another inaccuracy on the cash grab 50th one.

IIRC the black one is still the one he has in WHUFC colours now

this new black one does have a maple body though, so it should sound right (and weigh the Queen Mary 2 down quite nicely)

I sold my hammers one because it was just too heavy for me )

Logo on the headstock aside, couldn't this be achieved quite easily with a Squier P then a quick message to Brian Pillans or Tinytone?

'Arry has his own Seymour model now as the QP wasn't really anything to do with him. That just happened to be spec'd for the first Japanese signature.

 

But this pile of arse should have had at least the sig pickup in it. And the right bridge.
