  1. Fair enough but it’s Czech made isn’t it, which is more what I meant (rather than Korea etc) but yeh you’re right. Still cheap for what it is tho I think
  2. EDIT: I have reduced this to a straight £1,000, which is incredibly cheap for what it is
  3. Edit - Apologies misunderstood your post 😝 Yeh if this was a 5 string it’d be going nowhere! 😂 I’d love a Japanese 5 string Sadowsky but we’ll see
  4. **Final Price Drop until next Sun 28th April and then it’s coming down if it’s not sold - £1,000!!** Shipping available at your cost (can arrange insured shipping for you though) Trades welcomed, PX with cash my way (or potentially with cash your way for the right bass) **EDIT** - As it’s for this week only and I have my eye on something, I am reducing it to £1,000. For a Japanese Sadowsky in great condition. Read that again 👀
  5. It’s definitely got “That” P Bass tone 👌🏼😍👌🏼 - if you buy this and it doesn’t sound like that, you definitely can’t blame the bass!
  6. That’s a lovely Zender-era PJ Streamer for an absolute song! That crack in the wood won’t effect anything IMO, certainly wouldn’t bother me for £750! I’ve already got 2 basses on my shopping list but if this hangs around for a while this might end up on it too. GLWTS!
  7. Bloody good price this for a Euro Spector 5
  8. Yeh I think some people get confused about the quality of these basses with the Chinese MetroExpress’s, but this is a full blooded Japanese Sadowsky in almost immaculate condition for under £1200! This would have been gone in an hour a year ago haha 😆 I’ve never played a German Sadowsky so any comment made would just be hearsay, but they don’t seem to have the same rep the Japanese ones have
  9. I think at the moment the big money is in Fenders that look like a they’ve been rescued from a skip 😝
  10. It’s getting a set of Nordstrand Big Splits in if I do manage to buy it off you 😃 However I’ll be interested to hear the difference in the Mk1’s thru the East Preamp, as I honestly didn’t mind them
  11. These are so ridiculously underrated - it’s only the Mk1 Bart’s I think that have an unfairly bad rep - I’ve played this and the 4 string 44-01 and they feel and sound absolutely class, I hate to use the term but it is a proper “jazz bass on steroids” (excuse me whilst I cringe myself inside out). The East preamp in it will sound ridiculous - as you know I’ve got my eye on this!! 😃
  12. FINAL PRICE DROP: **NOW £1,000** - For 1 WEEK ONLY If it’s not sold by the end of Sunday 28th April I’ll take it down and keep it - this is an absolutely amazing price for this bass, however it’s a buyers market at the moment, but I’ll absolutely take it down at the end of next week if it isn’t sold Poss Trade or PX (either way - see below for trade options ) I have this absolutely lovely 2018 Sadowsky RV4E MetroExpress (the JAPANESE version) 4 string Jazz Bass in ‘59 Burst, weighing in at under 8.5lbs As most people reading will know, the short lived Japanese MetroExpress basses were made to the same spec as the 🇯🇵 Metroline basses but with less options (See: https://sadowsky.com/discontinued-instruments/japanese-metroexpress-basses/ for more info). This bass is every inch a Sadowsky, it looks, feels and sounds as fantastic as you’d expect. It’s really light, comes with the VTC preamp and it is in excellent condition. It’s not perfect - but it’s not far off, there is however a tiny chip out of the finish at the back of the bass by the electronics cavity, but it isn’t noticeable at all really, and not something that should concern anyone but it’d be wrong not to mention it - it’s got zero buckle rash or anything like that, and apart from the minute chip on the back it’s as good as new. There also a bit of discolouration under the pots, nothing major at all but it would be remiss of me not to mention it. I’ve literally just put a brand new set of Fender 7025’s on as well, so it’s ready to roll! This was my “dream bass” for a long time, but when II finally got it I realised I just do not get to play my 4 strings anymore, whenever I gig it is with a 5, and I can’t afford and don’t want to have my best & by some margin most expensive bass the one in my collection I play the least! I have priced this very cheap (for what it is) to sell. Bassbros have one exactly the same but black for £1599 and there’s one on eBay for about that price too, so I think I’ve put it up for a realistic selling price - I am always up for a deal, so give me a shout with what you have and see what we can sort Trades/PX: Definitely interested in potential trades & PX: 5 string Jazz or PJ (Similar standard - Xotic/Sei/Lakland/Fender etc) for a straight swap (or maybe with cash your way for the right thing), but also I’ll take PX with a cheaper bass plus cash I’m actively looking for a nice Lakland 55-01 at the mo (but I’d maybe take a 55-02, 55-60 or DJ5 as PX as well) or a Cort Elrick NJS5 I’d love a Yamaha BBP35, but would look at a BB735a or a TRB1005J. Happy to look at good cheaper basses - MIM Fender, 5 String RSD Ch-adowsky (PJ especially), Charvel San Dimas V, G&L Tribute L2500 - try me and see what can be worked out) I’m happy to do PX plus cash my way - drop me a message and the worst I can say is No thanks Also quite fancy a Jad Freer Capo and I’m after a HX Stomp again, so either/both of these would be acceptable as makeweights in a trade. I think I’m definitely making it fairly easy to do a deal and for someone to get their hands on an absolutely stone mint 🇯🇵 Sadowsky Jazz Bass! Shipping can be arranged if necessary but we can discuss it via PM
  13. The common reason I hear from people is that it saves your fretboard as they feel rounds will chew the fretboard up without the frets there to protect it. I think this is maybe true if it’s an ebony board but generally I don’t think it’s the problem people think it is. It’s honestly not something I really heard until I started reading online forums & groups where it seems to be the norm
  14. Loads of nice Sire v7 Fretless’s kicking about sub £300, that being said I’ve been impressed with every Harley Benton branded item I’ve ever had, from straps to pedalboards to basses it’s a very good value for money brand which presumably cuts out the middleman and sell direct so they can be so cheap. That Fretless looks nice - the fretboard looks a bit strange but it might be the photo

  16. So these are designed to fit a standard USA 5 String Jazz Bass with the slightly shorter neck pickup and slightly longer bridge pickup. Neck Pickup: 101.6mm Long x 19.6mm Wide Bridge Pickup: 105.2mm x 19.6mm Both have a depth of 21.1mm. Hope that helps, cheers - Paddy
  17. I’ll get them for you today. I wish I’d done the same when buying them instead of assuming they’d fit! 🤦‍♂️
  18. How trimmed are they - do you think I can stick em on a standard 4 in line jazz bass or is the G going to be too short? Cheers
  19. SOLD RIDICULOUSLY cheap for a truly fantastic sounding Classic Jazz Bass Hum Cancelling Bartolini pickups. (Nothing wrong with them but I have a Bass to pick up this week and need the funds - I paid £90 for them and that was pretty cheap for what they are - these are a bargain) Bartolini 57CBJD L1/S1 5 string jazz bass hum cancelling pickups These are the ones with the long bridge and short neck pickup for Fender USA type Jazz basses They sound absolutely amazing as Bartolini pups are apt to do, these are the original classic jazz bass pickups and the clarity and deep low end from them compared to stock Fender & Lakland pickups was mind blowing They have been gigged, so there’s wear on them and a small piece of plastic is chipped off on one of the screw holes on 1 pickup (see pics) doesn’t effect anything tho, they work a treat and have many years left in them! Come in original box with instructions etc cheers 👍
  20. Sire V5-24 5 string fitted with John East J Tone preamp (with passive tone control). Has been professionally setup and frets dressed etc and plays absolutely beautifully - and the John East preamp turns the bass from a 7/10 to a 9.5/10 in an instant, sounds really good I was considering keeping the preamp and selling the bass passive as it came stock, as it’s an amazing preamp but I think it turns this bass into an absolute monster, and so I’ll just let someone else have it like it is - and it really is a hell of a bass Red with roasted maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with block inlays There’s a small chip out the paintwork by the bridge Pickup (pictured) where I tried to fit new pickups but they were too big (pro tip - DONT try and “squeeze” them in, pickups and basses are not malleable 😆) Apart from that it’s as new i can ship it for £25, no trades (well, probably - you never know) I’m only selling this as I’ve got the chance of buying a very specific Fender Jazz Deluxe V which is a bass I’ve been after for a long while, and so I’m very reluctantly having to let this go. I may withdraw it if I manage to raise the funds elsewhere These are £599 new and the John East Preamp is £180, plus it’s had good money spent on it having it setup properly etc - I really think it’s fantastic value for money
