I never played one of the older ones, so I can’t compare it to those, but it’s a very good B string - I’ve not given it a lot of thought which is a very good sign, I generally only think about the B string on a bass when it’s farty and dull every time you play a note, and this definitely isn’t the case here. Like everything on the bass it’s absolutely spot on, a proper working bassist’s bass. I use the B string a lot, I pretty much live between frets 3-12 on the B and then moving across the bass, and when a B string is crap you can’t do that.

For sale is my Tech21 VT Bass Deluxe. 6 programmable presets (either 6 for one bass or plug 2 different basses and have 3 for each). It’s a preamp, amp/cab sim, fx loop, dirt pedal & AB Switcher and DI all in one and can make several pedals redundant. It runs on a standard 9v pedalboard power supply or a 9v square battery which I thought was pretty impressive for such a powerful unit - great if you’re always running out of inputs on your power supply like I am You get really excellent sounds from it, Ampeg SVT to B15 through to RATM and plenty more - if you’re looking at this you probably know all about the pedal already and don’t need me to explain it to you Works perfectly, I’ve put some duo-lock on the bottom since these photos were taken. I paid £199 for this inc postage on eBay the other week but I’ve decided to stick with my smaller footprint VT Bass v1 as I don’t actually need the DI function or FX loop Comes with insert card that has the Tech21 presets on, will be sent well packaged and wrapped in bubble wrap/boxed etc Reduced to £150 inc postage - May accept trades or PX’s (or even PX + cash to you for something I really want) Preamps, Compressors, Lo-gain dirt maybe, but you’re welcome to try me - I’m fairly easily tempted 😁 £160 is the cash sale price but trade value is probably a bit more

For sale is my Yamaha BB735a 5 string PJ In Fired Red (one of the new colours out) - this bass is less than a month old, I’ve played it a handful of times and gigged in once - still has the plastic wrap on the battery compartment Comes with a very nice padded Yamaha Gigbag which is fur or velvet lined (something like that anyway - it’s nice and soft ha) The bass is incredibly high quality - same pickups as the BBP range, 6 bolt Miter neck joint which makes for an extremely tight fit, the body is sandwich of Alder/Maple/Alder, the neck is amazing to play - the quality of these BB700 series is just crazy Its active with a 3 band preamp, and an active/passive switch - in passive mode the treble control works as a normal tone control would on a passive bass, which is a really nice and useful touch and the preamp has a red led battery light This link to the Anderton’s page for this bass which has all the info and specs on it: https://www.andertons.co.uk/yamaha-bb735a-bass-guitar-in-fired-red/ *19/5: Back up for sale* **Reduced to £550 inc. Free UK Delivery**

Fantastic (and very light) 800w Markbass TTE800 Tube Amp with built in Tube Compressor. This is the better quality Mk1 of these amps that was still made in Itsly Preamp & Compressor is run on 4 tubes - 3x ECC83 (preamp) + 1x ECC81 (compressor) and a class D head meaning it’s still sub 5lbs! Also has a fantastic quality DI giving you an excellent recording device rivalling anything out there at 3-4x the cost, and as it’s a Class D power amp you can run it alone without a speaker just as your DI live if you wanted to, it doesn’t require a can connected like full tube amps 3b Passive EQ and also ‘Colour’ knob which is like a tone control on your passive bass or like the MB ‘VLE’ function. This amp is insanely loud if needs be, and gives you an amazingly thick, dense sound that remains clean. This isn’t like your Ampeg’s etc that you can overdrive, it’s a clean tube amp, altho with some real effort and the gain cranked you can OD it with a boost but it’s not really that style, it’s just an authentic vintage tone with heft you can only really get from a tube preamp I have recently got a tube DI that fits on my pedalboard, and I go ampless on stage 95% of the time, and so I am getting a power amp that I can drive from my board if I need a cab, rather than introducing something else to my signal if I need an amp. This is an amazingly good amp - and for the money it’s an awful lot better than some of the others out there (an 800w Harley Benton amp is £300 currently, so this is miles ahead of everything else in this price range, and most above too) It also looks absolutely great - including amber lighting on the circuit board giving you a nice amber glow through the enclosure which looks ace on a dark stage Info on Markbass Website: https://www.markbass.it/product/tte-800/ I have price this to sell specifically at the price I need it to sell for to buy the power amp I want, so I’m not going to reduce it, if it doesn’t sell I’ll keep it, it’s a beauty (or if the amp I’m after goes I’ll withdraw it) Price is £360 - postage can be arranged, will be packaged very securely and it’ll arrive in one piece. Bought a VT Bass off Joel for a reallY great price, fantastic pedal (although I probably need to give Tech21 some credit for that too 😁). Superb comms/packaging/delivery, couldn’t be happier!

I haven’t read the replies, just the OP’s post so it’s likely already been said, but Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats are definitely the brightest flats I’ve played. Chromes can be pretty bright to start with, but they get pretty thumpy before long and they’re also quite stiff IMO, whereas the Cobalts are relatively low tension for flats

I like the J Tone, it’s a sort of ‘true’ active/passive preamp where it is the same volume on or off, you have passive tone when active or passive, and if set flat in active there’s no colouration, but then if you need the bass or treble it’s there in spades - you can alter the frequencies of both too which is really useful. -

For sale is the absolutely fantastic GK Plex preamp. The amp sims and EQ on this are absolutely second to none, so if you like the Gallien Kreuger sound this is really good, is also has a great 4 band EQ and each EQ button can be pressed for a different contour effect with 2-3 levels of boost/cut on each (bass boost/mid scoop/hi cut/presence), so the tone shaping options are massive, and it’s really hard to get anything resembling a bad sound from it. It also has a very good compressor which is fully alterable rather than just a one knob job you get on a lot of preamps, and 5 levels of drive which I only used the lightest one, and really liked. Also a headphone amp and tuner, DI and 1/4” out, runs on any 9v pedalboard power supply These are £519 in Bass Direct, and worth that money if you compare the features and the quality of those features - it’s a top drawer preamp, it’s in a very substantial metal housing. I was going to put it up for £275 but checked what I paid on here and it was £225 posted and so in the spirit of the site that’s what I’ll put it up for (*I want this shifted as I’ve seen something I’m after so it’s £195 posted*) I’d prefer to keep it but as much as I like the GK sound, it’s not what I really need at all for the stuff I’m playing currently - no doubt at all I will have another one at some point. Possibly do a deal with a Genzler Magellan Pre or an AK Fake Plastic Trees (with appropriate adjustments), or you’re welcome to try me with what you have but I’d much rather sell it Reduced to £195 posted! - comes in the original box too

Grizzly Bass OD/Distortion/Tone shaper - very recently bought on here from @IanA (so I have used his photos and description and linked the ad below). It’s a really good pedal, you can do an awful lot of different things with it - and it does them all really well, but it’s more than I need atm and if I’m honest I just like buying & selling pedals and trying new stuff 😁 I’m not really an overdrive person, but that being said I’m interested in trades/deals for a Genzler Magellan,Trickfish OD or the Eternal preamp, or a DG Harmonic Booster amongst other things (with appropriate cash adjustments). Other than that I’m maybe interested in trades for preamps, low gain dirt or compressors but really I’ve priced it cheap to sell as I know what I am after ideally Reduced to £105 posted - an absolute steal! Traded compressors with Jim - great transaction as always - top fella too!

Bought recently on here - great compressor that can also add some very nice saturation if required, but does clean. Can go from very subtle through to really heavy compression - Bassics is the brand of effects sold at the legendary ‘Bass Centre’ shop in London. Really great especially for this price, but I need something smaller (would take a Spectracomp in trade) Paid £70 recently from the ad below 👇 but I need something smaller! Happy to take trades, compressors, preamps etc - can add cash for the right thing. All I have done is add some duo-lock to the bottm, but can remove if preferred. High quality compressor at a really good price! £60 inc tracked delivery

Trickfish Signal Filter - super useful pedal with independent HPF (38hz - 310hz) and LPF (330hz - 15khz) so unlike others on the market you can turn either of them off separately without having to turn both off. Also there is 15db of ‘Make Up’ gain for the HPF which sounds absolutely excellent - you can kill all off all the ugly sub lows and tighten up your bottom end, and then bring the volume back up so the new, tighter sound really punches through Couple of vids below 👇 although as you’ll appreciate it’s not a super obvious effect like a fuzz, however as far as being a genuine tone shaper goes, having a HPF taking out all the sub lows and cleaning your tone up makes a colossal difference live. LPF can be used in a number of ways - I’ll either have it always on and it’s just takes all the shrill top end and string noise etc off, or I’ll use it more as an effect but have it set a lot lower and then kick it on for certain tunes and it’s like a passive tone control type vibe - but there’s allsorts, and because you can operate the HPF & LPF independently unlike the Broughton one for example, it gives you a lot of options. The make up gain makes a big difference too as it perfectly brings up the loss of volume to the level you set, anyway I’m not amazing at explaining things tbh, hopefully these are a bit better! 👇 These are £215 new, this has been used but it’s got no obvious signs of wear at all just some duo lock underneath which I can remove if preferred - comes with the box & manual Price reduced to £100 shipped or happy to trade/take PX (Or I’ll add cash if the deal is right) Trades: Always 😁 try me - I’ve got a few things up for sale, happy to make a deal

It’s a really great & high end preamp isn’t it?! Amp sim’s sound massive and completely realistic & give you a great sound flat, but then the EQ options and contour switches can really add some flavour - I expect to see more love for the Plex, it’s great! (Altho the £519 price tag at Bass Direct is a bit wild 😕 but looking at other stuff out there for £300+ it’s worth the money!)
