I don’t think the GP-5 is the next big thing or anything like that - far from it, but I do think it’s a sign of things to come and that the big boys should be a bit worried by how cheap the technology is now becoming to play free NAM captures, which are very very good. Line6’s next generation (the successor to the HX products) is going to be coming at some point - Line6 has a livestream with a ‘big announcement’ coming on the 11th June, so maybe they’ll announce something then, but I think if their next gen of stuff supports NAM captures then the likes of the QC are going to look very expensive for what they actually do

The NUX MLD is not a bad preamp at all - the drive sounds good, built in cab sim and plenty tweakable, they’re often overlooked cos of the price I think, but I had one and really rated it for ampless gigs, cracking sound out front

I mean for the price it’s worth it simply to use as an amp & cab modeler - you’ve got an insane amount of free open source NAM models/captures out there. From what I can gather you can run 9 fx blocks too making it more powerful than the Stomp (I’m not actually surprised, cos as great as it is, the technology is a decade behind). There is midi control too so you can presumably set it up so you can control those fx blocks via midi? I think this is a sign of things to come - over the next couple of years (or sooner!) the technology for all this stuff is going to fit on a tiny chip and it’s going to be able to be sold from manufacturers in China for buttons. I know you’re paying for all the R&D with something like the anagram but I think the days of paying a grand+ for modelers/digital rigs are coming to an end - the technology is going to be too good and too cheap elsewhere

Another compressor deal a month later 😂 This time I sold to Jim - top top Basschatter!

As title Labella Low Tension Flats for long scale 5 string. Cut for 4+1 but there’s loads (too much) left on the G so you could definitely put them on a 5 in a row Had them on a 34” Scale 4+1 for a couple of weeks, no gigs with them, they’re very fresh. Just like stingrays, flats sound great to me when other people are playing them but as soon as I play them I don’t feel right! Cost me £64 + £5 postage from Strings Direct 😭 £30 posted!

What exactly is the Ultrawave - is it primarily a distortion/saturation/fuzz pedal? I’ve been sure what it is

Recently got this TC Eldctronic Vortex Flanger in a trade, it’s the bigger 4 knob version with 3 modes Inc toneprint. Works a treat, runs on 9v - got a multiFX unit coming that’s gonna cover me for things like Modulation so I’m shifting a few pedals like this one cheap to cover the cost of it £35 inc UK Shipping

As new Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus. Excellent condition, runs off battery or standard 9v, gold standard for bass chorus’s - I am using a Flanger now for the small amount of modulation I need and that takes up less room so this gets the chop. REDUCED £38 Shipped, may trade - have other stuff up for sale (Providence Comp, Markbass Boost/Filter etc) always happy to work deals out. Particularly interested in low gain saturation pedals but try me with anything

Ben bought my Aguilar filter twin - top man, great throughout

Once you get to grips with the AGS (and realise it’s an ‘always on’ and to dial in everything else alongside it, rather than a 2nd channel) the Tone Hammer v1 is an absolutely fantastic pedal, couldn’t be more versatile really and the low gain AGS sound adds some lovely fatness/warmth to the sound. You can dial in pretty much anything with it tho, the main gripe from people was the volume jump when you turn on AGS but it’s designed as always on/always off I think, that’s certainly how it works best. Really excellent preamp/DI, bombproof and pretty cheap second hand

I’m wanting to try this, it sounds ace on the demos, but it’s not cheap! That said, a good fuzz is hard to find and the fact the clean side/blend is a Jfet preamp and has its own character too is a big bonus. I’ve also never seen any second hand, which makes me think people keep them when they get them!

Great little Japanese made compressor, lively & transparent with mix knob/function giving parallel compression - comes in original box, in great condition. Blurb, pics and Basstheworld demo vid below 👇 *Reduced: £40 posted* (RM Tracked) Ridiculous value for a very well made and decent little comp - Providence are Japanese and make excellent pedals! Trades?: Obviously 😁 Need a good low gain OD and/or fuzz (pref with blend knob) - Genzler 4OTF being my ideal one but try me, an envelope filter, anything preamp-y or mildly interesting - try me! Threshold and mix controls are included to take advantage of the bass's unique dynamics for aggressive sound creation. This bass compressor can add the dynamism of the original sound to a clear, bright, yet smoothly arranged compression sound. The mix control allows for precise and unique compression. ● Versatile Compression The Bass Boot Comp is a bass compressor that can add the vibrancy of the original sound to a clear, bright, yet smooth and well-defined compression sound. ● Versatile Compression Bass Boot Compressor is a clear, bright, yet smooth and well-controlled compression compressor that adds vibrancy to the original sound. ● Mix control to expand the range of expression The Mix control controls the ratio of the compression sound and the original sound output, allowing expression of delicate touch nuances with a core, or nuances of the original sound in a well-defined sound, which is difficult to achieve with a compressor alone. The "M" is the first of its kind in the world. Of course, it can also be used as a pure compressor by outputting only the compression sound. Adding the original sound to the compression sound gives a sense of openness, while adding the compression sound to the original sound gives a sense of stability in sound pressure. By approaching the sound from each direction, you can greatly expand the range of expression. ● Equipped with Threshold control You can control the reference value you want to adjust according to the output of the pickups and the intensity of your picking. Combined with attack and sustain, a wide range of expression is possible, from a thick, dense limiting sound to a speedy compression sound with an emphasis on attack. ● Visible gain reduction The gain reduction level is represented by an LED indicator and can be visually determined. The LED lights up brighter when it is strongly applied and dimmer when it is weakly applied. SPEC Controls: LEVEL, ATTACK, SUSTAIN, MIX, THRESHOLD Input/Output: 1/4" phone jack (INPUT, OUTPUT),DC9V input jack Power: 9V battery, or AC adapter/power Supply (sold separately) Power consumption: DC9V 25mA (with effects on) Dimensions: 115(D) X 73(W) X 50(H)mm Weight: 230g (body only)

Haha - I can always find a place in my board and a use for this pedal tbh, it’s just an immediate ‘sound better’ pedal 😁 It really shines for slap tho, my slap sound is quieter than my fingerstyle, and I also figured out (eventually!) that I don’t want a dirty great mid scoop in my EQ, but this just gives you instant miller when you need it, then you can shut it off and go back to your boring tone with mids in it - it’s not the only use but it’s bloody great for that. I’ve actually done an ampless gig not long ago with this as my only preamp into a Harley Benton Magnum DI with a cabsim as I had sold my GK Plex and hadn’t received the replacement and it sounded class tbf, I only had the VPF at 10 o’clock but it was decent (and made me question why I actually bother pissing around with allsorts of different setups). Anyway I put anything I wasn’t using (and some stuff I was) up for sale to get me through a financial bind but I’m pretty much sorted now - if you do want it @lee650 shout me but I’m definitely pulling it in the morning otherwise

I really want to try a subspace! That’s a pretty epic board for 3 pedals - nice!

Warwick Streamer Stage 1 Broadneck - *SOLD*

I’m gonna pull this and keep it if it’s not gone by the end of today - it’s a fantastic bass and I’m really selling myself short at this price, it should never have been under £600 really, it’s basically up for £525 as shipping is included - it’s banged up MIM fender money but you’re getting a very well made Yamaha. Anyway fair warning if you’re looking at it and considering it, I’ll be pulling it tonight if it’s still not sold! Cheers 🫡

Yeh when I read about IRA treatment I sort of rolled my eyes and thought it was marketing bs, but almost everyone who plays the BBP basses that I’ve spoke to or listened to (or at least everyone who’s opinion I value) has said that it does actually make a difference - people like Ian King absolutely sing the praises of the BBP’s without any sort of sponsorship. Not sure if it is the IRA treatment or not, but the BBP’s definitely seem to be very highly thought of. I also really rate Japanese workmanship (and Japanese Yamaha especially) so I, personally don’t think they would do it if it didn’t have a definite positive effect on the finished product.

Looks a great gig! Is that Mark on sax? Played with him when I depped in his Madness tribute, great player
