I want to buy my daughter a chorus pedal for Christmas and not sure what to go for, its not an effect id use. She plays in a shoegaze band so lots of fuzz on the guitars to cut through so i think she'll need a chorus that keeps plenty of bottom end.

Obvious choices seem to be Boss CEB-3 or MXR Deluxe Chorus or maybe Electroharmonix Bass Clone.

Are any of those particularly good or any other suggestions?

Bass clone is maybe less versatile than the others. I’m no expert but the first two would both be good; the TC electronic one is pretty decent as well and has loads of options which could be useful for that genre.

I've used an EHX Bass Clone for years and like it. You can boost the lows with the eq on it and the crossover can help too. The Source Audio Gemini may also be worth a look as it has so many types of chorus built in to it

On a moderate budget, and fairly easy to obtain, I’d recommend the MXR that you highlighted, or the EBS Unichorus.

If you want to spend a bit more, or don’t mind importing, the Providence Anadime Bass Chorus (make sure you get the bass version) is amazing, as is the Horrothia Type One.
