Another new venue for Nine Lives, and I'm sure that the vast majority of people here will have no clue where I'm on about, but we'll be playing at Maud Football Social Club on Saturday.

No, I'm not making these place names up, dammit! :D

Just been trying to have a little fun promoting our gig this Friday, loads of bands on plus festivals this weekend so we're not expecting a big crowd...but one can try as hard as one can 😁

The pub's called the Avon and it's right next to the river Avon so why not?

Nothing so grand as a festival for The Rebbels, our first outing as a four piece at Christchurch Con Club, Saturday.  We have had no rehearsals for 8 weeks, and so I am a tad nervous, but that is what makes it fun!

The lead guitarist and I are having a get-together tomorrow to work on beginnings and endings and other fun stuff, so I may feel better or worse by tea time.

Did anyone film any of it? Is there any bits posted on social media... I'd love to see it 🤩

The Hulla band is playing it's self organised festival tomorrow and today has been spent setting up the stage and sound, laying out the grounds and generally creating a decent venue. The day started with a large cooked breakfast and concluded with a short soundcheck and fish 'n' chips. Tomorrow I'm playing in two of the 7 band line-up. I'm doing a support slot with a splinter group from the main band followed a couple of hours later by a headline set (well, we do all the work) with the Hulla band. We have a new, purpose built and permanent stage on the village green and it's made a huge difference to the look and feel of the site, not to mention a generous increase in stage space.

It's been a long day today and it'll be another long one tomorrow as I'm there from 10.30 as assistant stage manager and the Hulla band's sets tend to go on until the last punter leaves. 🙂

First official outing for the Rebbels as a four piece tonight. We have made big changes, the lead guitarist and I have decided to swap sides. Of course I mean that I will be on the drummer’s left rather than the right. Ironic that as we are playing Christchurch Conservative Club.

I am really looking forward to it but will also probably be a bit more nervous than usual. Although we have not rehearsed for 2 months, I did have a get together with the Lead Guitarist on Wednesday to run through a few things.

I will try to get some pics to put on the “Howxwss your gig last night” thread.

This Saturday, Nine Lives are playing at Grays Inn, in Mastrick, Aberdeen.  Please come - it's never been a particularly well attended venue in our experience :(

The wonderful Colin Holton seems to be the only guy in Salisbury who gives us a gig, yet another Salisbury Live thing for us!

If anybody out there in Bass Chat land has a spare half an hour on Saturday afternoon, we're on from 3pm til 3.30pm at the world famous Wiltshire venue - The Barford Inn (I made that bit up about it being world famous, it's 2 miles from me and I've never been there 🤣).

It's just off the A30 about 5-6 miles west of Salisbury, I'm looking forward to seeing a couple of the bands after us so I'll see you all there for a pint 😉... it's your round 🤘🏻

I'm depping on bass for The Bonnevilles (rock'n'roll and proper R&B) on Wednesday 9th July at Darley Moor race track bike night, just south of Ashbourne.

I've just got a second dep gig with a local band 'The Gowertones' on Saturday after a successful first outing a couple of weeks ago. Turns out the 'vaguely familiar' rhythm guitarist is none other than ex Wales rugby coach Mike Ruddock, and the 'really tall, could be a rugby player' vocalist is, indeed a Wales international with 11 caps, Kevin Moseley. Great bunch, no egos, just enjoying the music.

We had nothing to do with the poster but delighted to be fundraising for Wiltshire Air Ambulance and knowing the bands on the bill, honoured to be headlining such a great collection of local talent.
