Do tell!

We recently purchased the entire estate of custom bass guitar maker David Decurtins. This fine Basses was hand made in the USA by Decurtins, and are made of the finest exotic hard woods with Dual Carbon Fiber Truss Rods. New old stock from the estate that have never been offered for sale until now. This particular bass is a right handed 4 string long scale bass, with mother of pearl fret inlays and a bridge to nut measurement of 33 1/2" and an overall measurement of 42 1/2".

The nut looks like it's had some odd work done to it, seems like the original slot for the A string is still there but somebody has made a new one in completely the wrong place and used that instead:

Seeing as the rest of the bass looks reasonably well built maybe the correct holes  are hiding underneath the bridge saddles and the same cackhanded bodger who did the nut has moved them too? Possibly after too many beers during a night out in Lagney?

What? Apart from the the fret job, the body shape, the nut, the mono rails, the non continuous body wood back panel (which looks like it was made for a different hole) - apart from that, it looks OK 😀

Assuming it was all made by the same person it isn't a complete wreck, someone at some point would have had to build a working through neck and everything else on it seems straight. That's if it isn't chopped down from an already existing bass for some bizarre reason.

Aahhh, what a doofus. I only saw the partial description on the ebay app. My bad.

There are two others in amongst all that bric-a-brac. The centre laminates seem well made but the hardware looks like its just been eyeballed.
