This is my new baby, picked it up today and Oh my what a machine and what a dude Jon Is! I originally asked Jon to build me a neck for a potential build I had in mind which after a few emails between us turned into a full build, and it was the right decision. Its a beauty!

Based-ish on the new Fender Flea is playing ( in a RHCP tribute see ) I asked Jon to build me something cool with some parts I had accumulated. Badass Bridge, '79 Stingray pup, Aguilar OBP-1 preamp and between my incessant emails and Jon's vision and patience we/he came up with this. Plays like a dream and sounds absolutely huge, lots of growl and clarity in spades. Maple board, painted alder body and based on a jazz-ish with a few tweaks here and there.

Pleased? Muchly. Put it down yet? Nope

Can't recommend Jon enough, great to deal with and the finished article is superb. Now I see why he was highly recommended on here and so busy!

Cheers all hope you like as much as I do, few pics attached.

Now, I must press on, must keep noodling!

Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes!

This is what fender should be building instead of the one he hasn't used for a decade as his signature!

Ace :)

That was my exact thought, I did buy the pink one too but this would be the one I would've put up as his signature model.

Jazz body, musicman pickup in the right place, job done! If they made a five string version with a sparkle finish I think I'd have to buy one.

Beautiful

The sound of a Ray with the look and feel of a Jazz?

I don't see how you can really go wrong.

I've been toying with the idea of asking Maruscyk to do something similar for me.

WIN WIN WIN WIN!!!!

There's so many reasons to like that. Jon's work is flawless, a real leader, craftsman and luthier with an incredible attention to detail. Walshy, that's a great idea and I can see lots of people drooling over it :) Congrats!

Cheers all, yeah Jon is excellent and easy to deal with. I think it's a fairly simple idea but the tweaks and build quality make it. You should hear it, magnificent! Anyone in the North East welcome to have a shot too👍

The only thing I would add would be a Musicman wheel of fortune truss rod adjuster, so much easier, oh and a B string :P :D

If you're talking about the shell pink jazz, he recorded I'm With You with the jazz, so not quite a decade.

Not taken at all by the sound of the current Fender, would love to hear this!

Oh man, I've been considering something very similar since I saw Flea playing that. Very envious. You gigging anywhere near me any time soon? :-)

Hey man, rehearsal last night and it was epic! Gig today so will let you know how it sounds through the GK head and Barefaced cab 😁. Gigging near Leeds next Sat mate, no problem with anyone wanting a shot anytime. It's an amazing bass.
