Angel Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Bought a ticket for Steve Hackett but it's not until Oct 2026! I don't get out much in my old age (62) but I may catch either of my two fave bands before then (Pendragon and Lifesigns) if possible. Quote

A friend's band at the Face Bar, Reading on Friday night, then Marc Martel (amazing American 'Freddie Mercury' soundalike) with his Queen tribute at Shepherds Bush Empire on Saturday night, then my Wife's wind quartet on Sunday afternoon in Guildford and finally(!!) the amazing nu-Yacht Rock kings 'Young Gun Silver Fox' on Sunday night up at Koko in Camden! Dazed Posted October 8 Posted October 8 (edited) On the train home from seeing Pino Palladino and Blake Mills. Sat within touching distance although on the wrong side of the stage so didn’t see anything from the front. Cracking gig if a little low on crowd interaction. Got lucky post gig and managed to grab a very brief chat and handshake with them both as they bolted into a taxi avoiding the crowd waiting out front. Massive hands! 😄 Fender Mustang? Pair of jazz pups and a bunch of switches. Rob Allen 4 & 5 string and a Godin acoustic guitar or some sort. Blake Mills had some interesting guitars too Edited October 8 by Dazed 2 Quote

Dazm66 Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Level 42 supported by Roachford tonight in Cambridge. If I’m honest, Roachford is the draw for me. Amazing songwriter and performer. Still, the other lot aren’t half bad too! 4 Quote

cybertect Posted Thursday at 23:44 Posted Thursday at 23:44 Saturday night it will be Chris Difford at my local venue, The Sound Lounge in Sutton. I, Doris are supporting and they promise to perform their take on Up The Junction from a female perspective, The Girl From Clapham, so this should be fun 😄 3 Quote

nekomatic Posted Saturday at 22:00 Posted Saturday at 22:00 The Songs of Joni Mitchell project (again), this time featuring Kate Stables as well as founder members Jesca Hoop and Lail Arad. After that, Emma Jean Thackray at Band on the Wall, on the off chance she wins the Mercury and becomes stadiums only from that point on. Quote
bassist_lewis Posted Sunday at 08:08 Posted Sunday at 08:08 My mum is very generously taking me to New York tomorrow, where we're going to see Ron Carter at Birdland Jazz Club, then off to Minneapolis to see Paul McCartney(!) Ian Allison is doing a clinic at The Guitar Shop NYC, but we have to be at the airport right as it starts 😭 3 Quote

Absolutely phenomenal. I loved being surprised by parts that I assumed were saxophone instead being played by Blake Mills and the parts I assumed were guitar being played by Sam Gendel. Pino also seemed to be using an octaver on his Godin acoustic guitar for one song. What a pleasure to be in the company of those four world class musicians for 75 minutes. Pino's main bass for the night was his black Fender Jaguar with a pair of jazz pickups. From what I could tell all of his basses had nylon tapewound strings. Quote
