Beautiful basslines

We’ve had difficult, easy, and the ‘not as easy/difficult as you think’ categories, but it just struck me that from time to time you get those basslines which are just beautiful to play regardless of difficulty. Checking on comments to something I posted on YouTube, I noticed my channel throwing up a recording we did of the Ki-C & JoJo ballad All My Life:

Absolutely nothing spectacular about the bassline, but for some reason (OK, maybe because our guitarist has mixed it well enough for the thick bass sound to cut through) it’s just perfect. We only did it once – a first dance request – but I remember how good it felt to play.
Do you have basslines that stand out simply because of what they are, regardless of difficulty?

Two of my favs are Joss Stone's cover of L.O.V.E and TLC's waterfalls. Neither are particularly challenging or showy, I just regard them as two of my favs.

If I remember rightly, I posted on here asking for the score sometime back and a member kindly provided one. So it's in BC somewhere.

The Sundays - Joy https://www.youtube....h?v=uD9ZRlvnh7w

Simple Minds - Big Sleep https://www.youtube....h?v=TLsxdXFliPg

Pepe Deluxe - First Goodbye https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9A82n45O96Q

Each beautiful in their own way, and bass lines you can get lost in.. (the Pepe Deluxe track finishes at about 4:25 but then goes on in silence for another 4-odd minutes for some daft reason)

"Penny Lane", a great song, but the real icing on the cake has to be Paul's descending bass line under the verse. I marvel at its beautiful, effective, simplicity every time I hear it.

Dune Tune here too! Got me hooked on bass and from that I got into Stanley Clarke. Despite the 80s production I love SC's version of Goodbye Pork Pie Hat (Mingus is better but didn't hear that until much later!)
Used to play Lovin Arms by Woods Brothers on the EUB, Chris Woods plays the upright beautifully on that (not sure I did it justice).

Something by the Beatles. I love Paul's line on this.

Dear Prudence was the first time I noticed how brilliant and essential Paul's playing was as well.

Then there's Don't Let Me Down... I'll stop before this becomes a long list of Beatles songs

I think some of Flea's earlier melodic playing like 'Soul to Squeeze' & 'Pretty little ditty' are a worthy mention :)

Got to love the line on Soul to Squeeze those implied triplets on the last chorus just lovely.

Only a matter of time before this one came up. The last 16 bars in particular are a work of art, could waffle on pretentiously for pages about them!
