  1. Mexican Fender Jazz Bass in immaculate condition. Bought new 18 months ago from guitar guitar and only been played a few times as I prefer my P bass. Not a mark on it. Will include hard case in sale. Collect from near Wolverhampton or could possibly meet up in West Midlands area.
  2. Always loved this theme and great bass line
  3. Neither would I but I've met several entertainment secretaries over the years who are oblivious to what the norm is and what the contract may state. They want entertainment from as soon as the room is full until everyone goes home.
  4. In my experience most social clubs pay same as pubs or maybe a little more. What you have to be careful of is how long you play for. Pubs aren't too fussed about breaks but a lot of clubs like the entertainment all night so make sure you agree performance times. Some clubs have bingo inbetween which is fine but otherwise they be looking for 4 hours to fill. I normally offer to DJ inbetween sets and charge them additional for the Disco.
  5. Zoom B1ON is hard to beat. Multi FX, Looper, drum machine and tuner for £40. Love using mine
  6. With me and the rest of my band it's the carrying the gear in and out and setting up that's the tiring part. I have most of the PA so have to carry it in the house when I get home too. When we get older I would seriously consider paying someone to set up the gear for us and look after it. Does anybody do this in their band?
  7. Beat me to it. Apparently the record company added the bells afterwards to give it a Christmas appeal
  8. I was trying to find a link for this too so I could post on here but couldn't find one. I saw the same trailer but BBC are not exactly going overboard in promoting it. Looks like a good series so will be watching all of them
  9. I don't think Big Country ever got near the masterpiece of their first album The Crossing. I think they struggled to try and be mainstream
  10. It's not half the bass it used to be...
  11. I use mine with a passive P bass and a Super Compact Gen 1(15") and it's perfectly loud enough for medium pub gigs of around 100 punters with no PA support.
  12. I've just ordered a pair of these following this thread as I like the idea of attaching to speaker poles. We already have 2 x t bars of par cans but a lot of places we play don't have room for them. Hoping these will be fine for small venues and in big venues we can use them along with the par cans behind us. Thanks
  13. Always loved Budgie's bass tone as can be heard at the start here. Nice and simple but sounds great to my ears
  14. Far too many adverts on music channels too. You're lucky to get three songs between breaks. Mind you I've notice you tubes adverts are getting longer and more frequent too
  15. As anyonee who uses LED par cans know there is an IEC input as well as an output. This is designed to link up several par cans and only need one power source. To cut down on stage space I want to move my par cans off the tripods and connect 2 each on a mini bar to the tops of each of our speakers. I see a lot of bands doing this and its a great idea. I have wondered if it was possible to connect the power out of the cab to the LED IEC input thus having one plug powering the lights and cab together. This would limit the amount of plugs/extensions we would need. I appreciate this would mean the lights would have to stay on all the time but this would only be for small gigs where we can't get the light stands in. I would imagine it could potentiallly damage the lights but wondered if anyone else did this.
  16. Ok with me mate. I'm liking the look of the Boss one now I've seen the replies
  17. Planet Caravan would not be the same without Iommi using a flute and delay pedal at 1.17 in
  18. Has anyone used one of these small systems like the one below? https://www.dawsons.co.uk/rowin-ws-20-guitar-wireless-system?gclid=CjwKCAjwgabeBRBuEiwACD4R5g-ymDhAif0ms9TLGXkPqDJpVX_5_-Uo0IDW0aaludNgxBCaTVvWtBoCnHYQAvD_BwE There seems to be a few ones that are very similar and cheap. Just wasn't sure how good they are
  19. I bought the stagg headbanger version of these that were a fair bit more at £99 each but I have to say moving heads are a great idea. If these give a similar output to mine then you will be happy. Plenty enough to illuminate the stage and the moving colour is better than par cans, but ideally you would have both. These heads can be linked using an xlr too so they mirror each other which looks great either side of stage
  20. Lots of ups and downs this week. I enjoyed the Lemon twigs especially their last song. Sam Fender was good too as I had never heard of him.
  21. Bit of a strange one but here goes. Having to move things round the house for various reasons and my new home for my gear is the cupboard under the stairs. Gear consists of my bass cabs, two basses in hard cases box of cables and amp head. Plus our bands two active speakers and boxed mixer. All fine except the main supporting wall in the cupboard (opposite the door) is also on the other side as to where our log burner is for our lounge. This is only small 3.5K oven but it heats the lounge great. When it's on and I touch the wall inside the cupboard it's hot to touch but not to the point where you can't leave your hand on. My question is whether this cupboard will be too warm for my gear as we are just about to start using the log burner again through to next Spring. I could just keep opening the door when I use the burner but not sure if I need to and may forget. I could possibly move the basses elsewhere if they are most likely to suffer? Anyone know if I am worrying over nothing?
  22. Thanks for the advice guys. I did already have roundwounds on before my flats and did not notice much difference. Anyway I decided to buy a couple of Gen 1 Compacts off here. These are the 15s and no doubt I only needed to buy one but they were both at a good price and it's nice to have a spare and also when using one I can have it on top of the other nearer my ears. First gig last night and as it was a huge room I decided to run both. Got to say I was blown away by how much bottom end there was. Lovely tone and surprising amount of top end too. Only one gig in but so far this is the sound I've been trying for. Pics below taken at home
