  1. Nice one! Must admit I am jealous of this. I’m in a rock originals band, but often get the itch to play jazz.
  2. I think you are spot on with looking at your technique. Also @SH73 makes a good point that you could be dehydrated in such a long rehearsal. 5/6 hours of playing in general would take its toll on most folk. Don’t give up on your Sandberg too soon mate.
  3. It’s gotta be the melody bass. Make it sing!
  4. Been playing since 2000 and never made a surplus. I will this year if I manage to stay in the challenge, that’s a very big IF... The GAS hasn’t gone away I have just had a reason not to buy.
  5. There’s a great Joe Hubbard video on You Tube, where he is talking about Pino being his student, and it turns out that his Custom Shop P Bass is based on a JV Squier, that Pino has lying in a corner for years, and He only liked the sound of it when it had naturally detuned itself by a half step.
  6. I’ve got to agree here, as terrible as it is for some one to have their gear stolen, all you have to do is look at any musicians forum and you see this happens all the time. I would question the story behind the story, it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that one of the band was the editors son, or these guys are about to be on BBC introducing... Im away to get my tinfoil hat out.
  7. An interesting theme that’s coming up on this thread is that Yamaha make incredible instruments. I think I may have to try one!
  8. I am going through this right now, and my mind changes on almost an hourly basis. I recently acquired a fantastic custom shop P bass. This thing is incredible. But I also have a VM modifier Squier P bass which I put an Aguilar pick up and Kigon wiring loom in. So the CS is worth more that 10 times the Squier and I’m trying to justify keeping the CS. I love the bass, it is easily the best P bass I have played, but even though it sounds, looks & plays better than the Squier I still have the guilt about keeping it...The struggle continues.
  9. I agree PJ is great! My Alpher has Nordstrand blades and it sounds incredible!
  10. They must have taking a disliking to me and priced themselves out of the market 😂
  11. Wow I’m surprised that people are saying Eurosender. I was quoted £300 for sending a bass valued at £600 to France from Scotland. I ended up using UPS, and I think it was around £65 for 48 hour delivery.
  12. Do you have a DAW? If so I would recommend getting EZ drummer or Superior drummer, and learning the ins and outs. Not only will it give you much more flexibility than a drum machine it will also give you endless hours of programming fun.
  13. Sounds great! Love the song, the production is great, as is the bass tone!
  14. I was auditioning for a band. Transcribed their full EP, got all the songs down. Checked all my gear it was all good to go. Got there early, had a good chat with everyone, nailed all the audition songs on the EP, even played another one of their songs just after a quick chat about it. Had another good chat, then said to them I will pack up all my gear and let you guys have a chat and you can get in touch, all the time playing it cool. Left the rehearsal room and checked my pockets...couldn’t find my car keys. I had to go back into the room with my tail between my legs asking if my keys where there...They weren’t. Turns out they were in my gig bag all long.... All ended well though, I got the gig, and still with them 2 years later, and the guys have become good friends.
  15. Keep your chin up mate, things will turn around. People can be fickle things.
  16. Good news, it seems Juan is making some improvements. I was very happy to hear this!
  17. Fantastic Fender Custom Shop ‘60 Precision. I got this in a trade from @walshy, it is a great P bass. Slight Relic Dirty Blonde finish, Alder body with Nitro finish, Quarter sawn maple neck with 75’ Jazz shaped profile neck with 9.5” radius & jumbo frets. Clay dots & micarta nut. Hand wound ‘62 pick ups & wiring. Comes with COA & Tweed case. Any questions please ask. I’m open to sensible offers. I am open to trades, but would prefer a sale. Trade wise my ideal trade would be a Universal Audio Apollo + cash. My trade value for this is around £2400, the £2100 is the sale price.
  18. That looks fantastic! Great job. I reckon you could start taking orders.
  19. @davidak you seem to be great at getting the floor traveller documents, how do you go about getting them? Also lovely bass GLWTS
