  1. Very nice. Especially the ramp, it looks great!
  2. I have ordered some ultimates for my 4 strings and an Advanced 6 string set to string my 5 string EADGC. Looking forward to trying them! Thanks for the discount it’s much appreciated!

Janek describes what he uses each exercise for.
  4. Was the shipping not extremely expensive? I remember looking a buying a T-shirt adding it to the cart, then thinking to myself there’s no way I’m paying that for postage...
  5. My go to is my Alpher Mako PJ, I can get pretty much any sound a will ever need out of the bass, and it just feels incredible! Unsurprisingly not the first Alpher on the thread. Truly phenomenal instruments.
  6. I can’t believe you still have this Lawrie, what a great price for a fantastic bass! Hope you are well!
  7. I’m another Tele guy. I have had strats and Ibanez RG’s and AZ’s. But I love the simplicity of the tele.
  8. Thanks for this! Just got a set of NYXL’s for £27. Nice one!
  9. Was I the only person to be surprised to see a Mesa Boogie 400+ in the background behind Macca? I never took him for a Mesa man?
  10. Awesome! It’s so great to hear some good new just now!
  11. I think if I’m honest with myself I’m a burger van. If I’m all that’s around you will give me and chance and might get to like me, but like all burger van’s if you come back again it’s not for the food.
  12. I’m afraid I am out. I bought a new DI box. Of all the products to fall off the wagon for it’s something as simple as a DI box...
  13. I’m guessing it’s the version from the movie ice age 3 she likes, and not the original? My son loves that song too but the original version has some interesting lyrics for young kids...
  14. Previous to using mix craft I had only used garage band, but at the time I didn’t have a Mac. I did a quick google search for DAW’s and a bunch of people said that mix craft 7 was about as close to garage band that you could get on PC. So I downloaded it really liked it and almost instantly upgraded to 7 pro. I don’t think I had heard to reaper at the time if I’m honest so I just jumped in and swam.
  15. The last mix craft I used was 8 pro, and for the price it was great. I have since moved in to using Logic as I got a Mac. The rest of my band use logic so it was a no brainier for us all to use the same DAW, and we can just share project files. I would still recommend mix craft for a windows user, though from opinions posted on this thread and numerous others it does seem that reaper would be the one to beat.
  16. Janek is using it as a low pass filter in this review of the OC2.
  17. I was about to recommend the Iron Ether Xerograph, but it seems you have already taken the plunge on something else...
  18. Check on Pino Palladino on the John Mayer Trio album Try! Absolute master class in taste full playing and making a guitar trio sound “full”. Another great example of why Pino should go down as one of the greats! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=4396AVR51tE
  19. Nothing wrong with playing guitar & bass. If you only have enough practice time for one, then go with the one that calls you. I can play guitar but I always prefer playing bass. I wouldn’t know this if I hadn’t learned guitar. Good luck.
  20. I would definitely try boosting your lows, if you have an EQ pedal around the 40Hz mark might help.
  21. This is very true! 2 basses in the same gig bag is very heavy! I only use mine when I really need two basses...
  22. +1 for the Gator Pro Go X2. I have one and it’s a great gig bag. It’s an absolute steal for what you get.
  23. One question, is this only happening when playing with a band? If it is, the problem is quite possibly solved with EQ, however if it is always happening it may be an issue with the bass. I used to have this issue with a bass I had when it was tuned to Drop D, I could hear everything except the low D, it was basically drowned out by the band. For reference the frequency of a low E in standard tuning is around 41 Hz, try boosting the lows in your amp.
  24. If I’m 100% honest except for festivals, the last 2 years every gig that I have done and taken my rig to, usually I wish I had a smaller rig as it just takes up space, and I always have PA support. My rig isn’t that big, but some times I think I would be better off with a tiny cab...
