  1. I’m going to say that’s a problem with the rig, more than the bass.
  2. Gotta say I loved Oysterhead, I guess it just shows music is so subjective. The one that probably missed the mark for me was the Transplants.
  3. At least another 5 to suggest completely different things to do instead of changing the lightbulb...because you want a light source but not really a light bulb.
  4. Started with Mark Hoppus, then Flea, then Les Claypool...#born in the 80’s
  5. It is still a fair bit smaller than an LT, and I am in a 6 piece band, where quite often I don’t get much stage space. The MC6 allows you to label all the switches similar to the scribble strips on the full helix. I can understand why you would go for an LT instead of this, but to be honest for me it was all about space, and this is extremely compact.
  6. I would recommend the stomp, and if you feel you need more switches get an MC6 . I have a stomp,MC6 and mxr volume mini on a pedal train nano + and I’ve never looked back.
  7. I know you said you don’t want to spend more than £200, but in all honesty for £300ish you could get a 2nd hand Helix Stomp, and it would do everything you want and more. It does have a bit of a learning curve, but it’s 100% worth it.
  8. Any progress with finding your stolen gear?
  9. Facebook groups. But it’s still a massive pain in the derrière. Be prepared for crap communication, but with a little bit of luck there are some decent opportunities. I would say have decent videos of you playing to send straight of the bat so that you start on the best foot.
  10. I agree unless you have a well treated room avoid mics. DI’ing straight into the desk / interface theN using plug ins in your DAW would be my suggestion.
  11. There is a lot of good Facebook groups for finding people to play with, lots of bands in Glasgow / Edinburgh looking for bass players. If you PM me your Facebook username I am happy to invite you to the groups.
  12. When the balanced output from the DI box would help is if you were running long lengths of cable.
  13. Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s classed an an elite when you have a top wood. It doesn’t necessarily need to be a crazy burl.
  14. I was meaning your Alpher dude.
  15. That is an incredible bass! You are a lucky man.
  16. Lol aye just make sure you leave it out in the sun and next to windows as I hear that’s the best way to make sure the colour doesn’t fade...
  17. Yeah as great as that bass is, I’m not sure I would have wanted the drama...
  18. Did you have the pick ups changed to DCB’s? I’m so glad that bass has been restored, it’s a beauty.
  19. Just realised that I hasn’t put up a post with my completed 4 string. Also included is a picture of both of my Alpher. All I have to say it if you are thinking of getting an Alpher stop thinking and start speaking to them!
  20. Yup sounds like a “sound guy” that doesn’t know what a gain knob is... Probably a guitar who thinks gain means distortion...😂
  21. I hate to say it but my first thought here is that they strings may be fake... Lots of fake products on the market, especially through sellers on eBay & Amazon.
  22. Slow dancing in a burning room - John Mayer
  23. Not a solo bass album, but Blood Sugar Sex Magik is the album that got me obsessed with bass. Can still play the whole album.
