  1. To answer your first question, I'm fairly sure we have auto correct to thank, it will automatically change "squier" to "squire". I believe your real question has already been answered in this thread.
  2. No offence taken, to each his own.
  3. While I stand by the view of "to each his own", I feel its pretty harsh to judge Pino based on his work with the who. Pino has such a varied CV, from his fretless work in the 80's, his incredible groove with D'angelo, to his work with John Mayer, he has such a massive skill set.
  4. I find it hard to believe that your "tutor" couldn't have taught you something else during the lesson. I know some of the best lessons I have ever had I barely touched my bass, and when I did I could have done it with out being amplified.
  5. It can be argued that nothing is new, and that all music is the musicians paying homage to their influences. The way I like to look at bands like Snarky Puppy is that they are bringing fusion to a new generation of musicians, and making the genre relevant to people that wouldn't other wise find fusion bands from the 70's / 80's. In my opinion there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.
  6. Blink 182 - Enema of the State. The album came out when I was about 15 and I loved it, but it's like 29 minutes long, I always ended up listening to it several times. I still do love that album.
  7. Happy new bass day
  8. I follow my drummer as he plays to a click, most of the joy of the playing in my band comes from being tight with the drummer as the bass lines a fairly simple but getting to a place where I am landing exactly with the kick & snare is super rewarding.
  9. Thats the plan, I already have my "fancy" Alpher, and my Alpher guitar, both of which are incredible, so the fretless completes the package...That is until I decide I want a 6er lol
  10. 1 piece Sapelle Body Hard Ash Neck 34" Scale Macassar Ebony Fingerboard 1 Nordstrand Zen blade in bridge postion Hipshot hardware No controls
  11. How is this bass still here? This is a serious bargain! What a great bass for such little money.
  12. On an Alpher related note my fretless is coming along nicely.
  13. Another approach may be to look at EQ & Drive as you said you like the feel of your current strings. Bumping the high mids and treble and a little gain might give you the results you are looking for.
  14. Fairly certain Chris & Al wouldn't want their designs copied. They are great guys though so give them a shout, I'm sure they will let you know if it's OK or not. Chris is on here @CHRISDABASS
  15. Sweet, is this your first Alpher? I have played Chris's original bass and it's great, you are in for a mega treat!
  16. Album sales? Not sure they exist any more.
  17. Failed miserably... In: Teletronix TDI DI box Alpher Manta V2 Guitar Antelope Discreet 8 Interface Deposit on Alpher Mako 4 Fretless Out: Fender Custom Shop P Bass Squier Classic Vibe P Bass Squier telecaster Audient iD4 When I balance it up, Im not out of pocket. Yet...
  18. Great news, happy NBD. Hopefully the trauma of getting it will disappear and you will fall in love with the bass.
  19. Some instruments just feel & sound like home. We can chase all the shiny gear in the world and still be craving what we had before. I have found my home bass (pun intended) and I don't intend to use anything else.
  20. Go smash it, you will be great.
  21. The amount of fake products in Amazon, makes it hard for me to trust them. If it says "fulfilled by amazon" anyone can send stock to Amazon warehouses and its sent out. I use strings direct.
  22. Anyone who hasn't checked out Phil Mann's new website / youtube channel should get on it. He is doing a great series with Jeff Berlin just now.
  23. Be yourself, you don't want to get the gig and then not be comfortable around your new band mates. As long as you are a decent enough player & singer don't sweat the music too much, just have fun and get to know the band. 70% of their decision will probably be about you as a person not necessarily you as a musician (unless you are not up to their standard)
  24. Sorry I will change it, I had just got back from work and it had been a long busy day.
  25. Rob bought my Custom Shop P Bass. Great communication, super fast payment, and a great guy. Deal happened very quickly and easily despite us being is different countries. Deal with confidence. Thanks Rob!
