1. Saw them at Donington ( mismatch!) how could they top the same bil as metallica/wasp/anthax?? 1 and only time i saw loads of screaming teenage girlsor younger at a gig. Bit like when beatles started out. Saw them on bbc iplayer last year(i think) . No communication with other band members, just ' look at me' . Very plastic sincerity.Lack of warmth etc.
2. Bump for nice guys ,)
3. An experience to miss
4.
I use the GK bass amp emulator, PocketGK. It lets you play along with any track in your iTunes library on the pad. http://pocketlabworks.com/pocketGK.html It's designed to work with the iRiffPort http://pocketlabworks.com/iRiffPort.html
This is also a good one ,)
5. IDave Ellefsons app is one to consider, and especially good if you have irig.(i know you dont but..)
6. Love sparks. Kimono/ Propaganda , 2 of the best albums ever. I remember seeing sparks a few times in the 2000's at the Astoria. A bass player was with them part of the set. Could it have been him?
7.
The best vehicle for him to display his talents was Flotsam and Jetsam, he wrote most of the songs on their first two albums and played some great lines on the debut Doomsday for the deceiver.
Yeah , can't argue with that ,)
8. Well, I know there was a dream thread from another bass chatter .I forgot that, but before I forget this dream , thought I'd better tell you about it . All I can remember is me being in a pub on a Friday night. Can't remember who with. Then all of a sudden, I trip over my steinberger bass.(yes the one for sale here); The neck is broken and the body is splintered. All of a suddenGrajam Noden(Denmark st. Repairs) offers to fix it .price £350, because he knows me , Weird,)
9.
Why doesn't this bloke get a guitar? He's playing it like one...
Is that Dick Dasterdly on vocals? Catch the pigeon anybody?
10. Two Basschatters are selling interesting basses, which could suit,) One is the 12 string Hamer. The other is the brown flying v bass. Other than that, just go with the above,)
11.
I grew upon 80's Metallica and some of their recent stuff is okay too. I do have a lot of respect for Jason's playing and his Flotsam and Voivod albums were very good. This track is not the most inventive but it's pretty decent. Three things really bug me though, the lyric "I'll make the devil sell his soul" is pure cheese and the drummer has "Jason's Back" written on the back of his jacket and lastly the devil horns doesn't work with this type of music. I can kinda see why Jason's writing didn't make it onto Metallica albums (I thnk he got co-writing credits on three songs in his 14 years in the band).
Yeah, I think it is definitely the devil horns/logo that was very offputting. The guy's pushing 50 , not starting out trying to be Cannibal Corpse or whoever.A bit juvenile.*no offence meant to cannibal corpse etc.*
12. Thanks for your help. Sorry to hear about the Rega Planar.Nice turntable. I pity the person who did it if you find them,)
13. Are they all different?are they expensive? Please can somebody advise?Have Pink Triangle turntable , not used much these days cove r ed in dust,) Want a cheap solution. Cheers
14. I find that with 5 strings , after wondering how it sounds "wrong" on a four a song you've been trying to learn (a cover song for example,)just appears. "right" all of a sudden. Eventually , you realise that the more sparingly you go lower than 5th fret on b string , the more confident you become of your new instrument. After a while , you will hardly think about the difference between 4&5
15. Recording bits even ,)
16. Years ago, I thought that guitar- followed closely by keyboards would be ideal. With metal it's always guitar first IMHO . However, maybe due to age , I wanna be a drummer with a nice kit. Ain't gonna happen,so i will stick to recording bots on soundcloud and the like ,)
17. Poxy spellcheck! Vegan? I meant interface ,)
18. Well, you need to vegan interface . Or you could get a lead which has standard guitar jack on one end and a USB at the other. I use a toneport ux1 by line 6. Somebody else will be along shortly
19. Well , sort of. I saw a you tube clip of his new band, and I'm not sure what to make of it really. (Sorry, dont know how to upload yt vids) As my friend says' sounds like Lemmy doing Megadeth.' Maybe 2 guitards are needed. Can't see this band going for very long.Maybe i'm wrong.
20.
Can't do that; double-barrelled names are SO last year, and the Punk-Dude Estate is trying to maintain it's credibility to get down wiv da kids.
Cant really argue with that ,)
21. No! Leave waynepunkdude as is ,)
22. Cool! More info please- especially the ice cream bass (2nd left),
23. I find that sometimes , if I just noodle around on the Bass unplugged, just for a few minutes my technique improves. Weird
