1. Howdy At present , I 'm in the process of trying to create a mini music environment in 2 rooms (bedroom &living room) It may or may not work out, but I will listen to your valuable input here first. I have Mac mini , line 6 ux1 , m audio bx5a studio monitors and an ipad. This was all in the living room, but I thought of occasionally moving The mac /ipad and ux1 To the bedroom from time to time. If I were to do this , I think that I would only need a small fairly decent (&not too pricey) pair of computer speakers. I should've said also that the Mac mini will connect to my TV in the bedroom, and I have a kidney shaped computer desk in living room with monitor. Eventually, in a year or so I may get a laptop but times are hard.( Please help Cheers
2. Hope it goes well. How about head like a hole (nin), or falling awayb(Mordred)
3.
Ha ha, I don't think that works. I went to Uni too. I just smoked weed and chatted sh*t for years. I wasn't trying to start owt
No worries;) that was the good thing about the '80s .. New guitar gods;)
4.
When i was at Music college there was a Vai/Satch divide. I was in the Vai camp. Obviously Satch is a great player it's just he bored me to tears and his music seemed a little sterile to me. Where as Vai was fiery and in places a bit mental. To be Honest that's the kind of music i love the most, Fiery and a bit f***ed up, starting with Stravinsky.
I won't get highly strung (this is a zep thread still;) Anyway, I just find vai a little tuneless . But , you've been to college and are better than me;)
5. Slightly off topic; saw Dave Lee Roth at same shows as siddx front row at wembley too,)Hammy o gig was great( the drums;) Malmsteen ; saw him a couple of times , and at a music fayre at wembley. He played the tiny Astoria 2 (a clothes shop in the daytime;) Schenker pulled a strop , and pulled out of a co headliner with malmsteen at hammy o about 6/7 years ago. Malmsteen smashed up his guitar, the body nearly smashed my mates head , but we caught it.great gig Steve vai ; can't listen to his stuff, but saw him a few times with Satch( my fave) .He headlined the Astoria , that gig was great . Prefer Macalpine . Back to Zep, you know it will be expensive to go. You will be lucky to get a tkt. if you do go to the 02. , the highest point of the venue is scary. Apart from that, enjoy the gig
6.
................especially if you'd have heard this http://youtu.be/P1g7qFaWaLk
Tried for a minute ..that was enough
7. Yes ! If he ever gets that violin bow out , the roadie should run on stage and stick it up his arse
8. T BH , I would say no. Got the stuff at home, which is rarely played. Stopped buying subscription of Classic Rock magazine as they are constantly in it every other month. As for Planet Rock radio- can't listen to it anymore as it's Zep or Free /Who. Oh, and Kashmir is one of the worst and most tedious things I have ever heard, as is Low Quarter.
9. Agreed ... Cool bass bump;)
10. Yeah, I too have that . I also have the 3 track ep which is on the yellow label.(shame it's not the red one )
11.
Me too! I was there both nights and had seen them in Koblenz a couple of weeks prior, t'was The Manic Street Preachers that opened the gig. Have probably seen them around 12-15 times
Now Mrs T , you've opened a can of worms . I detest the manics and understand why a band member went missing .Even I prefer the 2 bands in question to them ,)
12. I have to point out something; I saw Leppard supporting AC/DC on Highway to HellTour . They were good. Saw Bon Jovi headline Monsters of Rock '87? Terrible! But,,Metallica, wasp and Anthrax were on before them,. Also saw Leppard at Donington , their first gig since the drummer was rebuilt. Motörhead were best band that day imho. So, after all that , I still don't get it,)
13. 8 guests are currently reading this. Maybe they could join BC and tell me off
14. Sorry , but on the radio this evening , I heard 'Animal' , then 'Bad Medicine' . Aaargh,my ears!! Both cheesy, Coca Cola , safe music. Apologies to fans of both bands mentioned. I know that the musicianship,is fantastic and Leppard have fantastic (possibly over produced) harmonies. But, surely others here feel my pain?
15. My guess is , it will sell for £180. 3 people bidding on it now.
16. When things were good (go back6 +years) , before redundancy I used to see a fitness instructor who showed me parts of the Alexander Technique as well as yoga and pilates . Happy times . AT is all about posture, and you always have to be conscious of everything you do. Lots of actors / movie stars do it. I say , do it. You may feel wary at first , but do it and stick with it. Best to see a teacher , or class regularly imho.
17.
I always mod my headphones with a female jack. That way when the cord goes, I just replace that.
I must do that
18. Well, this thread may have tone retitled;) I found box that they came with ..extra cables ! Tried the headphones using the wires direct (without the broken nc battery thing),and I'm just blown away at how great these phones still are! I was under the impression that you would not get the noise cancelling without the battery compartment . Works just great.,,AKG ROCK !!
19.
Sorry to be thick, but I've often wondered what the point/purpose of noise-cancelling headphones is. I'm not trying to be funny or clever, I'm genuinely puzzled. Are these to be used like ear-plugs, to reduce the amount of noise reaching your ears? And yes, I know I could look it up on Wikipaedia but I thought it would be more useful to ask someone who actually uses them.
Basically Jack, it's for travelling( or in my case commuting Train/bus). The idea is , you get good hi-fi quality sound. The reason that they are noise cancelling, is that you c an avoid the sound of bawling babies and people who are shouty and don't know it. They are good, but generally more expensive than the average for this reason Oh, and they are generally full sized closed design and they fold up when not in use
20. Pretty cool bass as mentioned , probably best to check G'nR fanclub etc.
21. Mmm , may go for FSL zero. Bluetooth, cordless and not a bad review...
22. Just looked about everywhere regarding AKG accessories. There is a kit which costs almost. £ 30 (ha450). And there's a cable made by a company , whom I am not sure of for £10. Thing is , none of these are the exact duplicate of the faulty cable I already own. ( no battery / volume etc) Wonder if I'm better off buying another set of headphones, or trying a new cable. BTW ; the socketmthat goes to the headphones themselves is a different socket from any other manufacturer(
23. I've calmed dowm for 5 mins, so I think you should have a bit more info on my situation; Headphones owned AKG K480 NR .. Noise reduction Problem ; wires ! Possible solution ; buying replacement wire ( with battery) I have seen things on the net , but it's not clear if I can get a direct replacement. AKG website.. Not very explanatory. Just phoned Richer sounds who have an ex demo set of headphones .1 only for £40 , but I can't get to Eton & they won't post( May give A kG a call , but it's almost 5pm on a Friday
