1. I was in a strange band a few years back. Because the guitards use capos a couple of songs were down tuned. The songs we were playing, would not be recognisable by anybody under 95. Trouble is , once I learnt a couple of said songs, they 'd change tuning again. Foo fighters have lots of odd stuf in their songs. Ok for a 5 string. What some bass folk do, is have 2 basses. One in standard tuning and one in b e a d . If they are the same make of bass, then I would think it would be a good option. Then you get some who tune lower than b.......
2. Actually , this is a good thread. You must go to their first gig. You've done your bit. Leave it now, like everyone has said. Do a you tube clip, and post it on here;)
3.
I Was Born Under a Wandering Star - Lee Marvin. (But you may have to drop the key a bit)
Yes! Brilliant
4. Evanescence , Aerosmith , cradle of filth ,judas priest
5. Price or trade value £0 . Nice bass. If that's the price, I'll take it. 100euros? Sorry , times are hard. Have a bump anyway

7.
Hmmm, we recorded with Ian a while back and I must say I found the end result very compressed and rather flat. No depth to anything. He's a lovely guy, works fast and is relatively cheap though
I was gonna say horses for courses ( coat got;)
8. A few years back ,I was in the first band ever to use Airplay studios (Ian ). It's in ashford Middx. We recoded 2 CDs . One was excellent quality. Did the whole thing in a day ( roughly 9am-4 pm if I remember correctly;)
9. 80 seconds.. you could review napalm deaths back catalogue in that time. Checkout sonic state, bass whisperer, harmony central etc. plus old bass mags if you have them. Time needs to be taken
10.
One of the bands I play in just forked out for leopard skin bowling shirts (shudder). It's all showbiz and people have paid for a bit of a show. If you're playing to a paying audience you need to make a bit of an effort.
Yabba dabba doo??
11.
Do you really need to ask? While I also like to craft recordings in the studio, for me live is really what it's all about and the chance to interact directly with our audience. Like Nigel, I grew up on glam and then punk rock, so for me the idea of not looking my best and putting on a performance when I play live is totally alien. However I don't really "dress up" for gigs. What I wear on stage is only a slightly exaggerated version of what I wear the rest of the time that I am in public. IMO giving value when you play live is more important than ever, especially since rock/pop music is moving towards a model where the live performance is the main product rather than the recording. Those bands who can't see the benefit of doing more than just playing the songs loud are going to get left behind.
. Pretty cool gigs By the look of it ,
12. One gig to coax me ot of retirement, Anne Sommers /playboy party. I'll go back to sleep now.....
13. I used to do various rock poses, talk to crowd members while playing. Waving to people and moving around constantly. Mainly through nerves.also ,I've always believed that you have to look like you are enjoying yourself( even when you are not!) always played witha smile . The good feedback I got from every gig must have meant I was doing something right
14. How cool is that ?
15. God,I wish it was that time again. Happy times , long hair loadsa gigs etc. That's one thing about the American bands back then , they tried stuff like BC rich, Jackson, charvel etc.
