1. If it were female, you could have called it Sally . Get an endorsement with fender and you have...
2. Let's be honest. There are soooo many,) I haven't seen the posts above properly,as I am in pub. Most of us IMHO would say, sabbath / budgie / Metallica . Choosing single songs , is more difficult. I will name many throughout this good thread. At the moment it's ; prong' who's fist is this anyway' . Supernaut by sabbath/ & enter sandman
3.
Or if you have an iPad try this - http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/products/iMini/intro.html A minimoog clone for under a tenner! Just got mine today and its very good.
Thanks for that,)
4. Remember him being on TV a lot when I was a kid. Shame, he seemed like a real character
5.
He's in Stockport though isn't he? Anyway, there are plenty on the list that I doubt many people haove heard .. After Midnight - JJ Cale Pumped up kicks - Foster the people Steam - Laura Vane and the Vipertones Enjoy the ride - Morcheeba Rome wasn’t built in a day - Morcheeba So much trouble - Sir Joe Quaterman Is it my perception or are there a hell of a lot of cover bands around at the moment, breeding like flies over the last few years.
Haven't heard any of those. Must be getting old
6. What? Where is I will survive?
7. Used to be ..rock covers (I'm a metal head ,) Wanted to play in electro metal( ministry /front 242 etc ) never happened. If I were to join a band again, I'd go for tangerine dream meets tool kinda band. Was in 2 blues bands. Made me feel very old. On one rehearsal , I decided I had enough of the blues . We had songs such as' lightning blues , 'blues in my head'. When the band leader said 'I've got another song- down man blues' , I resigned from the band. 'We are a blues band you know ..,' Me; 'really ??' So no , I couldn't do blues anymore . And I hate soul/ funk etc. so I may not be varied enough.
8. Duracell for me. I buy one whe n I need it. When I used to gig, I used to put a new battery in my bass on gig night.
9. Thanks for that ,) it's not cheap either, considering I got the podfarm free with my toneport interface .
10. Straw poll?? Not horse eat again.. Well, you play more than me. I used to do 10 -12 hours a week when I was learning . In bands, 4hrs rehearsal room, and about 2 hours a week. Now ,I do about 3 hours a week. Need to do more
11. Stumbled across the Markbass the other day. If I already have podfarm, is there any point in getting the Markbass studio software. BTW , isn't it about time Garageband Had some bass amps in its collection.? What do you think?
12. Should this be in the recording thread or elsewhere ?
13. Actually tbh , there are Loads. I gigged most of the time with 1 guitarist . May post some of my old set lists over the weekend
14. Not sure if this is in the right category(amps@cabs). Just wondering if anyone here has the markbass software . I have the line 6 podfarm series of amps . Btw ; isn't it about time that GarageBand have some bass amps available ?
15. What's that song that starts 'do do do do. do do do do. ' ? I think it's by feeder! Oh and somebody told me the killers . Thankfully the band broke up just in time so never played them live. Nickel back , since you remind me. I'll probably remember more later
16. Regarding testament, they played at the monsters of rock in cologne to replace megadeath at short notice . They played before Dave lee Roth, anthrax, kiss and maiden. They were IMHO the best band of the day on par with maiden. They were almost the big 4 along with overkill and nuclear assault, but somehow lost their way. BTW 'hang the pope' the song that is timeless
17. Well, I've been going to so many gigs over the years . Regarding the big 4 , some of the best gigs I have seen; anthrax at the hammer smith Apollo (spreading the disease) Metallica /anthrax puppets tour hammy o.Slayer reign in blood tour hammy o. Plus many others can't remember right now . Megadeath in the early years were ropey IMHO .Flotsam blew them clean off at hammy o . Best megadeath gig I saw was at Astoria 7/8 years ago.( not the dreadful one a year later with session players). Yeah, they're all tame now. Suicidal tendencies were not on the same league IMHO . 1 good album( lights camera) 1 great single( send me your money ) crap live. Too political . Very samey , very Whiney. Only IMHO
18.
[sub]My old cookie monster band - a bit different to All The Queens Ravens![/sub] [sub]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3uI3OsjAAIc[/sub]
You look too polite for that band. A bit like that bloke out of the moody blues (sorry)
19.
Blame these guys. I'll tell Jeff how upset he's made you all feel when I next see him. That wasnt too bad
