  1. Mmmm… it’s easy to look as bands having large egos due to them getting huge and needing extra assistance so to speak. Whether we have time for bigger bands or not doesn’t really come into it . Bigger bands need roadies for example . That gives roadies paid work . This sometimes leads to permanent friendships with the band. Plus the techs are often friends of the various members of the bands ..looking after their mates as such . Plus the bands see other bands and copy them ,and their management advises them perhaps 🤔
  2. Wow! The prices are absolutely bonkers ! I salute those of you who persevered and proceeded with your purchase 👏👏 From the London O2 perspective I have mixed feelings about that venue . The £5 paid to see Metallica there was a total bargain ! The actual seat was possibly the most scared I’ve ever been at a gig ! We were within touching distance of the ceiling where the beach balls were released for the whisky encore! The hardwired gig by Metallica at the same venue although not quite as high, was just as scary ! Getting to and from the bar was a nightmare, and if I sneezed it would have been death! Then Hetfield says “ we’ve broken a record here for the most people at this venue ! “ Obviously by treating paying customers as cattle ! Not the fault of Metallica ,but by the owners of the venue taking greed over safety and enjoyment! Too many people ! The venue is massive ,and the walk into the area where your ticket allocation is is like an expedition imho! Fwiw the best gigs I saw there were Rammstein , Rush 1st gig there and both Metallica gigs on the Death Magnetic Tour ! I do like the atmosphere outside the indigo and the bars in that area. Things may have changed since the clockwork angels gig there !
  3. Regarding ticket prices in general , when I did go to gigs I always went for the most expensive ticket whenever I could . When I saw Rush at the London o2 clockwork angels tour , I had to let my friend get the tickets . I told him to buy the dearest ..but he purchased the slightly cheaper ones. This meant that although at ground level , we could only see half of the backing orchestra 🤦‍♂️Idiot ! My last time seeing Rush 😮‍💨🙂
  4. 😮‍💨 I’m so glad I’ve stopped going to big events like this . This would infuriate me if I was interested .
  5. I’ve always wanted one of these! Unfortunately having a grandmother and minitaur , means that I’ll have to pass . Have a bump anyway ! GLWTS
  6. Mmm…there is still more room for added dates! 🤔 just saying ..
  7. Lucky sod! I saw a few of their tours after that 🙂
  8. Well we all know the history , but I just don’t feel it tbh . Neil was the main songwriter , and of course an unstoppable force live and on record . I’ve seen a lot of Annika’s drumming on you tube .This was before the announcement of her joining Rush .She is phenomenal..but I can’t imagine her moving around so much as Neil did . I can’t see the warmth . Plus of course Geddy’s voice is not what it was. Some of their stuff has been downturned live to accommodate. He was struggling on the clockwork angels tour . Then there is the cash grab side of things ; expensive tkts ( apparently) , plus the huge price of reissued stuff such as the Grace Under Pressure Live set etc. I’ll wait for the dvd / download. Yeah , it’s true that Rush do indeed divide options . Fans disliking the modern stuff or hating the prog stuff etc . It’s only my opinion though 🙂
  9. For the price of the tickets I’d rather get one of these instead ..
  10. Just a heads up ! I’m not going . I’ll stay with the memories I have of the times I’ve seen them in the past ! For those of you who are going ( or trying hard to get tkts), I wish you good luck ! Let us know the cost 😀
  11. Eurovision used to be harmless fun imho. Take it or leave it , it’s something that’s always there . Not for me anymore . Having said that I did like scooch flying the flag 😬
  12. Mae as a box of frogs ,and a genius ! If anything he’ll inspire others when they see him ! Go Sam !

  15. These were a big deal in the unplugged era of the ‘90s . Bargain ! Glwts
  16. Thanks @rainbowreality. I do use duck duck go most of the time, but for some reason there are times when google has more options . I found the folk at Glued to music really professional and friendly. They were doubtful that the screws they had were suitable. I would contact them again if needed ! I have a friend up north who is always super busy ,and who runs his own guitar shop. I managed to make contact with him yesterday , and the replacement screws are on their way !
  17. Well spotted ! This is great ! More fun than the white stripes imho
  18. Thanks a lot for doing this @neepheid! Really good of you ! 👍 I have 2 people on the case ,and should hear something over the weekend .I’ll pm you if I want to take you up on your kind offer ! I’ll update here if I do find solution also . Top Man 👍
  19. Sorry to be a bit wet behind the ears , but I’m not sure of the actual size of that screw. 🤦‍♂️ Glued to music are a legitimate organisation who have been very helpful.. However they are unsure if they have the size needed. They sent a link for 15mm which may be too big ..
  20. I found the size I need ! Should be easy enough to track down ..
  21. I did receive an email from Neil Co owner of the company I mentioned . He noticed I didn’t checkout , so I am now in conversation with him via email to see if I can get the replacement needed!
  22. Thanks for that ! Bass is 30 years old 🙀,and I now feel very old ..
