  1. This would be great for a metal Bob Marley tribute band . Nice and unusual Glwts
  2. Wow! This seems to be unravelling from the Black Sabbath performance , to another ozzfestt to what looks like "a tribute to "Show.(If it still goes ahead ) No doubt the DVD / record/ cd / download releases will make it sound and possibly look like a very energetic show. More money for Sharon . The poor punters killing themselves to give . ( to charidee:)
  3. ...and motley crue 🙂
  4. Pinterest may provide some inspiration
  5. You've done well to be in the same covrr band for so long imho . . I think being in gigging bands is like a job in itself . Trying to book rehearsals with band members going on holiday/ looking after the kids etc can be a pain . Then there may be times when band members are in more than one band . Booking gigs and following 5hem up can be messy. I think the best feeling of all is playing in front of people . A great rehearsal is great too . I don't miss it at all , but it took about a month to realise that . When the fun stops stop 🙂 wishing you all the best anyway
  6. Wow! For that price I'll stay home . Let's get f@@kin' Lazy 🙂
  7. I saw the you tube clip yesterday . Only imho , but I think it sounds much better on guitar than bass .
  8. Yeah, I was at The Hyde Park gig too. I was reluctant as I had enough of outdoor gigs . Pleasantly surprised . Geezer was phenomenal . Imho apart from Sabbath , Faith No More were the best band of the day . Soundgarden bored me , and Chris Cornell was in black days then nbeknown to us . He just seemed disinterested. As for Ozzy , 4th Row at Blizzard of Ozz gig at Hammy and it was a great gig . I couldn't go to the following tour, due to receiving a letter and refund due to him biting that bat . Saw him at donington and hammy o on the ultimate gin tour. He was going through his wig wearing stage and looked like Sharon from Eastenders. Tbh, I think the tour at Hyde park should really have been the end , but Sharon and money = cash 🐄
  9. Fundraising gig in Birmingham turns into another Ozzfest . Will there be another show or 2 added on ? A lot of bands and megastars there . Probably be more than one stage to choose from . Potentially short sets by all performers . Whatever floats your boat .
  10. My first gig with the blues band . Everything was arranged for 3 bands to play the Coach and Horses in Kingston . The guitarist/ founder of the band had it all arranged. So much so that we ended up headlining . Apparently we didn't care who headlined ,and just wanted to play , The other bands were supposedly all as laidback as us. When we arrived , there were no posters / promotion of us playing . Then there was a relief manager who seemed to be miserable and oblivious to what what going on. We watched the first band . All seemed well. Our turn to go on stage ..Relef manager " can you turn it down!?" We eventually managed to complete the set . Apparentky the headline band were getting narky for some reason . This annoyed our Guitarist / Founding member/ Ex European ju jitsu champion. When we were packing up to leave, the Founding member's car was blocked in from leaving . So, obviously angry he asked the singer of the band " can you move your car ?!?" This was just after the headline band started their first song , sunshine of your love. The band had to stop , and car was moved . The Grey Horse was always a bit of an odd place to play with the various bands Iwas in for some reason. Nice pub for a drink , but the rest never impressed me . overrated imho .
  11. I notice big name companies such as M&S, Qvc use them . Always been a cheap and nasty company from my experiences . When I see an item I am thinking of buying I now check if I can , the name of the courier co used. I recently purchased an item from a nice eBay seller . "2-3 days " so contacted him ( not reached out to him) ,and he agreed to use Royal Mail Speciall Deelivery , and I paid a bit more for this. My mine gripe with evri , is that it's always between the hrs 08.00-20.00 hrs . I always find the tracking app absolutely useless. Just a picture of a van saying " on its way " or words to that effect. Then I'll get a message apologising for delays which mean parcels are delivered arounf 10 pm!
  12. Totally agree about the Rush cash grabs .. I have all their catalogue on remasters CDs . They were about £ 6 or so when I purchased them . I did get a couple of their digipacks ( 2112/ hemispheres) but that's it I made the " mistake" of selling vinyl albums for CDs back in the '80s/'90s.( not all of them thankfully) . I have since Re purchased most of the Rush ones on vinyl ,and have now stopped . The last vinyl I got was the Atlantic/Rhino Box set ,which tidied up the loose ends so to speak . The Geddy Lee Book of Bass and the Album Artwook books are good imho . So many bands doing the same thing following suit. My effin life indeed . I got bored of that audiobook half way through . I don't fancy my effin socks or underwear either 😮‍💨 It seems I've finally stopped being over obsessive with stuff at last 😬 Depends on your tastes etc, but the 3 best deluxe editions for me ; The 2Tangerine Dream cd albums and Celtic Frost Vinyl box set. Anyway , as you were 🙂..
  13. Suprprisingly , I won't invest in any of it . If I have second thoughts , I'd get the download . Too many cash grabs from them lately . It'll probably appear on you tube at some point. The other thing is when buying CDs of certain bands of late , there are various cd versions which come in book format . I'm struggling to keep up with all the digipack editions etc ,and finding places to put them is becoming a pain.
  14. Black Magic Woman was officially the first proper song I learned . That was with friend who used to give me weekly lessons for a fiver..or an album . However on my own without having much of an idea , I did for some reason nail the track no man's land from the penetrator album by Ted Nugent . I was going through the dopey stage without any confidence etc . It seemed like I was getting something going ,instead of playing the riff to ac/dc sin city so many times ..
  15. Such a shame . I can't remember ' chatting ' to him as such , but he seemed to me to be one of the main members who was a really nice guy . I always remember his username from way back when . RIP
  16. This was mine . Great little pedal .Glwts 👍
  17. I don't gig anymore and have a few basses . As the Badtz maru sadly isn't being reissued I got a Squier mini P Bass . Just to mess around with in the front room.I didn't have to do anything - it was just right out of the box . Quellle surprise ! I do like the look of the sea foam green ,and the yellow sonic p series . The seafoam reminds me in colour of a cheapo version of the Yamaha attitude .probably much lighter . It would seem weird / mad selling my more expensive basses for something like these . Something to mull over ..
  18. Liking the blood effect in the last pic . Times are hard at the moment . Wonder if it would fit a headless bass like a status 🤔 Have a bump ..
  19. Luthier vandross
  20. Mmm...I wonder how you are felling about the recording process now @Dom in Dorset? 🤔 More confident ..or more confused ? 🙂
  21. My brother who is a fan of van morrison , told me about a gig he went to in the '80s at the Hammy Odeon. He mentioned he was well aware of VM's cantankerous reputation , and he never disappointed . By this I mean that Van Morrison played 3 songs , mumbled something and walke£ off in a huff! 😹 My brother compared Van amorrison to a racehorse .if they're up for it on the day ... He just reminds me of Father Jack ..
