A few months ago, I was pondering over a cheap surround sound style setup for my living room. I posted a thread up here and you were all very helpful .) Now , I've just seen the solution. The Bose Solo. What sells it to me, is the fact that I can put TV on top of Bose-job done! £350, a bit pricey! I know that there are loads of soundbars, but, are there any that let you put your TV on top of them? Cheers

What 3 Bands Did You USED to Think Were Great?
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE replied to Lowender's topic in General Discussion
I had a bit of a classic rock phase a few years ago. Cream, Led Zeppelin and Bad Company. They All sound a bit over long and bombastic again to me. I haven't listended to any of them for a few years now. Still partial to a bit of early Deep Purple though. About the same for me . Very rarely buy classic rock magazine ( if i did it would be ipad version). Those bands &The Doors are always in there.
-
Rush. I went through a phase where I bought a load of stuff, but only liked a few songs per album....and the more I listen to Neil Peart, the less I like him. Red Hot Chili Peppers used to be great, but the totally jumped the shark with 'By The Way' and never recovered,as far as I'm concerned. Up to and including 'Californication' has some great stuff though. That's about it really.I might not listen to a band for a while, then I'll get back in to them again a few years later.
Chilli peppers; saw them years ago on the positive mental octopus tour . Great! Bought the mothers milk album- returned it to hmv 2days later. Have blood sugar/one hot min/ californication albums but never play them. The track cant stop is commercial crap at its worst. -

Saxon! Well i was in the nwobhm in a big way. Iron maiden. Still have a huge amount of respect for them. Free! When I was a kid , I had the Free story album.. Now I detest Paul Rogers voice and think he is overrated. Truth is, there are probably a few more that I have forgotten about.( Faith no more,Groundhogs,Atomic Rooster, early G'nR ) -

Saw them at Donington ( mismatch!) how could they top the same bil as metallica/wasp/anthax?? 1 and only time i saw loads of screaming teenage girlsor younger at a gig. Bit like when beatles started out. Saw them on bbc iplayer last year(i think) . No communication with other band members, just ' look at me' . Very plastic sincerity.Lack of warmth etc. -
Bump for nice guys ,)
I use the GK bass amp emulator, PocketGK. It lets you play along with any track in your iTunes library on the pad. http://pocketlabworks.com/pocketGK.html It's designed to work with the iRiffPort http://pocketlabworks.com/iRiffPort.html
This is also a good one ,)

Love sparks. Kimono/ Propaganda , 2 of the best albums ever. I remember seeing sparks a few times in the 2000's at the Astoria. A bass player was with them part of the set. Could it have been him? -
The best vehicle for him to display his talents was Flotsam and Jetsam, he wrote most of the songs on their first two albums and played some great lines on the debut Doomsday for the deceiver.
Yeah , can't argue with that ,) -
Well, I know there was a dream thread from another bass chatter .I forgot that, but before I forget this dream , thought I'd better tell you about it . All I can remember is me being in a pub on a Friday night. Can't remember who with. Then all of a sudden, I trip over my steinberger bass.(yes the one for sale here); The neck is broken and the body is splintered. All of a suddenGrajam Noden(Denmark st. Repairs) offers to fix it .price £350, because he knows me , Weird,)

Two Basschatters are selling interesting basses, which could suit,) One is the 12 string Hamer. The other is the brown flying v bass. Other than that, just go with the above,)
I grew upon 80's Metallica and some of their recent stuff is okay too. I do have a lot of respect for Jason's playing and his Flotsam and Voivod albums were very good. This track is not the most inventive but it's pretty decent. Three things really bug me though, the lyric "I'll make the devil sell his soul" is pure cheese and the drummer has "Jason's Back" written on the back of his jacket and lastly the devil horns doesn't work with this type of music. I can kinda see why Jason's writing didn't make it onto Metallica albums (I thnk he got co-writing credits on three songs in his 14 years in the band).
Yeah, I think it is definitely the devil horns/logo that was very offputting. The guy's pushing 50 , not starting out trying to be Cannibal Corpse or whoever.A bit juvenile.*no offence meant to cannibal corpse etc.*
