2.
'mazing, are these for a Goldie Looking Chain tribute act?
Not too far from the truth. At Friday's show I think the last four songs were by Right Said Fred, Franco el Gorila, Nadia Ali and Sean Paul.
You gonna 'Burberry' the double bass next? Need about 16 shirts for that!!
No, but...
3. Let's bump this thread for...
4. I'm back with a new one. Unfortunately it's not a Chavel - it started life as a Peavey Milestone III. I bought both the bass and the jacket in the UK. It definitely looks better and sexier than my first attempt. Here's a better shot, though it wasn't quite finished. And the labels. First gig with it is tonight - I'll see if I can get some video. It might be the last gig with it, too, as I already have two possible buyers for it. I also still have enough fabric left for two more basses (I cut up an XL jacket for this), so there will be more chavvy basses on the way.
5. Yup, I remember seeing a denim-covered bass somewhere around here. Covering a bass in fabric is easy. Covering that fabric with a finish that will protect it from sweaty bassists takes a lot more work.
6. It turned out OK, though there definitely are some mistakes that I hope to avoid next time. Here are a couple of in-progress pics of the scratchplate. I tried spraying a black burst around it to hide some flaws in the edges, then I thought "you know what..." and just kept spraying black until only a little bit of the pattern showed through in the middle.
7. Hello. I'm not from the UK, just occasionally visit, but I feel I should post this here. I just finished it yesterday. It's a parts Precision. I'm not sure where most of the parts really came from though the body and pickguard are supposedly Squier and the neck might be Ibanez, but it's definitely got a Burberry London shirt glued to it. Next I'm planning to glue a Burberry jacket in the classic colors to a Peavey Milestone.
8. Giant weird doubleneck is now gone. Not that I suspect anyone here will be too sad to have missed out on it, LOL.
9.
If anybody wants a BIG lefty, I got a big lefty I could part with. Hembry lefty doubleneck bass, essentially a P bass copy with a spare P bass copy built in. Made in America but probably using some Korean parts. Located in Poland, but I have family in Cambridge so the bass could be picked up from that area. Would sell this for 300 pounds or trade for a P-ish bass of some sort (either lefty or righty). Currently tuned EADG and CGDA lefty-strung-righty, but the existing nuts can be flipped for proper lefty stringing.
Now with bright and happy orange racing stripes bump! Located in Poland, but I have family in Cambridge so the bass could be picked up from that area. Would sell this for 300 pounds or trade for a right-handed guitar (for my singers) or a P-ish bass of some sort (for me - either lefty or righty). Currently tuned EADG and CGDA lefty-strung-righty, but the existing nuts can be flipped for proper lefty stringing. I've even been known to use it to play Brazilian music which Fabiano likely would not approve of, LOL. "Ai se eu te pego", "Balada boa" and all that. Well, OK, and some Secos e Molhados and stuff like that too.
11. Bought a bass from him, very friendly guy and easy to deal with. Transaction went smoothly.
