1. Must be my Aguilar amp and cab. Then a tiny bit of octaver, reverb, phaser and delay. Previously playing live, most was with no effects. One or two gigs had a smidgen of chorus. The last band I was in , I as using a zoom b2 1 u . Can't remember the setup on it tho. And it was only for 2 or 3 songs.
2. Btw , Julian richer is a top bloke, very Richard Branson in terms of cred I think.met him a few times back in the 80s in the London bridge branch,)
3. My goodness ! I feel, like its 1982 all over again. Great thread. Trouble is ,,I wish it was .
4. These used to always be advertised on the back page of bass player . Must be good.)
5. I get the 'not connected' notice as soon as I open my pod farm.( you have the same system as me) I normally quit , and then reopen and all is well. What you could do, is go to top left hand corner of podfarm preferences and basically click all the input /output options and it should work. There is a white noise testing device in there too. Can't say anymore as I'm at work and my mac is at home.)
6. I remember back in the day, NAD 3020..serious budget amp. Shame I blew mine accidentally. Got Cambridge audio now, highly recommend .)
7. Would you wanna trade for a 6 or 8 string ?
8. Would trade for synth pedal
9. Beatles Hofner violin bass.....ugly. Jaydee . Gibson ebo. Not too keen on fenders , but....love my 77telecaster (?!?)
10. As a person who loves old keyboards stuff(tangerine dream/schulze / namlook) I heard of him , but nothing by him. Saw a pic of him in Fridays metro , and watched a few bits on you tube.T he an has awesome talent , and I love someone who puts on ashow. Is there anything you could recommend that's not too dancey ?
11.
Don't know about the metallica stuff but for a lot of drop tuned stuff you'll need to down tune ( or tune the B up ) for the riffs where the bass follows the guitars, where they use the open C, C# etc to pedal off.
Drat! You'd think that in an ideal world, 4 string normal tuning, 5 string low moody stuff and a six string would do all of the above.)
12. When I was in bands, I used to do a bit of showboating on the easy songs. Couldn't see me being able to do it with a six , without sounding like les Dawson .
13. I know what you mean,)
14. My ex boss is a huge fan. When I was younger, I was into all things heavy (still am), but over the last few years I likeore of their stuff. Great for easy listening. They are truly great musicians. They also did not do " all around my hat' ,)
15. I've had a six string , gathering dust for a few years and due to financial issues have decided that maybe its better to offload my 5 string and a four. Recently I put the 6 for sale, but after noodling around the other night , I realised its not as complicated as first thought. When I was on a band, I never had time to learn it .getting the songs ready for rehearsal was taking up enough time in itself. Anyhow , the question is ; do I have to alter the tuning of six string to cope with down tuned songs by the likes of Metallica etc.( alot of that stuff is d flat etc)? Cheers
16. The people who notice most are your band members IMHO . Wouldn't think the crowd would, except for the odd beard twitcher.) Personally , I do. both , which is always handy. It means that if I were to join another band, I'd be able to adapt to the preferences to my band mates quickly.
17. I take it you already have carpet , if you're in an upstairs flat. Essential. A small combo is handy at times like this. Never put amp on the floor.
18. Played it last night , 1st time in ages . May keep it
