1. Sorry to hear about it Loz. Smaller gear is always a plus tho. Glad you're looking at the future with a retirement age in mind . Tbh , the 'proper ' way of doing things ( work hard, join pension, buy a property) has gone out the window years ago. I'm 2 years older than you, always in constant employment( less than 6months unemployed). It looks like part time / temp work is the future . And of course , wages are coming down while cost of living is sky high. I think it's obvious pensions will be tampered with by any gvt we have in power( I hate all parties). At least you have a fairly good pension to tide you over till the gvt one, Try to keep your best stuff tho as you deserve it.
2. Don't remember the combo. However, the first 'proper' amp I had( which was a head amp / cab)was ohm 150 . The cab was huge.my cat used to sleep in it. The head was heavy.everytime I turned it on - bang! Anything past 2 , and the windows were shaking. Powerful. Had to offload it when I moved house ,)
3.
ive seen this listed a few times, I assume its him listing it each time after failure to shift, rather than it being resold
It's Andy Baxter .com
4. Oops ! Forgot about the impedance . Not sure about splitting . Will put further info tonight , when home from work.

7.
Thanks for all the replies, dudes. Most appreciated. There's a little bit of conflicting info here, would be good to clear it up. Specifically around the Ibanez BTB and Yamaha TRB series. Are they considered wide spacing or not (even at 17mm)? Some of you recommend them, some say they're too widely spaced for a noob (scale length isn't really a problem, btw). It does seem like you're all saying the pickups and preamps on those are fine, though. That's good to know. I did spy someone selling one of those K5's for a reasonable enough price recently (£400, I think). I think it's still available, too. I can't stand the stupid inlay. I could live with it if it's an amazing bass, but I got the impression it's not the only gig in town at that price range. I also wondered if the pickup placement was a bit limiting at all. Lastly, I've read on here and elsewhere that some folks don't think mahogany is a great tonewood for a bass. It's amazing on guitars (I just bought an Ibanez RG7CT (one of just 22 left in the world) on the weekend *massive grin*). Am I talking nonsense (although the inlay is definitely fugly)? One last thing, slightly unrelated. I don't have an awful lot to plug the bass into. At the moment I've only got my (darling of the guitar world) Axe FX 2, which isn't bad, but isn't the best device in the world for basses. I was considering one of the following: Darkglass B3k SansAmp Bass Driver Hartke Bass Attack Is that Hartke worth avoiding? It's the cheapest of the lot, and I the clips of the B3K I've heard, so it would make sense to just plum for that straight off the bat? If you intend to gig , or rehearse with loud drummers ,other band members then you need about 250 watts. There are many brands for a good price from GK to Ashdown. Other bass chatters will advise you. Also , do you want combo,, or head/cab?
8. Just heard it now. Best thing they've done for years. Very similar to something off exile? Btw , gigs are being announced . 2 (eventually 4) gigs at O2 in November . Tour next year?
9. Doesn't rock my boat . What bass did you buy last week?
10. Drummers are hard to find , full stop . Keyboard players also. You'll get one eventually . Reminds me of a situation I had when I had to do a gig for my birthday a few years back. A few days before, our drummer pulled out because of a job at very short notice. This sales guy, where I used to work offered to help out. He arrived wearing these leather gloves a nd insisted on standing up the whole time. He irritated the life and soul of us, so we had to make up an excuse not to use him. I was crying with laughter about the huge ego and no talent. He did not rock,)

15.
Hi Ray, is the ME50B still up for grabs?
Yes it Is.)
16. Probably the best covers I've played; deeply dippy right said Fred,tainted love, mamma Mia , Pork and beans/ hash pipe , buddy holly .. Weezer,echo beach. Song that all band members refused.. Rivers of Babylon . Really wanted to do that(;
17. To be honest, we all forget bits when playing live . I know I have. My former band mates have too on occasion . Wouldn't worry about it too much. The rest of the band may notice but the crowd may be oblivious.)
18. I'll check this out during the week.cant see vid because no flash on iPhone. Cheers Ray
