1. Thank you for living up to your name,) I don't expect any enquiries till after Xmas , but don't want to whinge. Will donate to bc if sold tho' as I'm always here ,)
2. Now that the pic issues are sorted, I managed to advertise my bass for sale in the usual forum. However, when I look at progress I have trouble finding it. I won't mention which bass it is, but I bumped it this morning and still can't see it. Any ideas? Cheers
3. Bloody predictive txt !! Still, I think you have the idea,)
4. Glad you are ok op,) 2 things spring to mind for me; Back in 79/'80 I went for interview as a clerk at post office. I failed hearing test. Had a test at guys hsp. Never did get results. I was 16 and naive.i saw iron maiden at Lyceum the night before. 4 years ago, had medical formu new job& was food I have 'perfect hearing' Regarding drums at rehearsal: a couple of times, I used to bend down setting equipment up, and mr.drums had a habit of thumping the foot pedal while I'm in front of drumkit. Very loud and deafening(, If I join a band again, earplugs at rehearsal for sure.
5. I feel your frustration. Sometimes i played in pubs where initially there were a fair few people. Then, the smokers go into the beer garden... I dont know if i do get in another band, if its gonnabe worth the hassle. 2 +years have passed since my last gig.
6.
Yeah that OP is totally illegible. So you got sacked because you humped all their gear around and had to take a taxi to gigs? Anyway, whatever's transpired, I'm very sorry to hear about it. It's always a pain in the arse when you've spent a lot of time and effort into trying to make a band work and then it all just ends. Hope there's better news for you soon mate! Alex
Thank you . I thought it was just me who was confused.com ,)
7. I hate sky,so I have to do without.May get friend to record it when it's repeated
8. Okay , got the humping of equipment. Still don't know the facts why you left. Were you sacked.(sounds like you were from the rant). Are there other reasons? Was there tension beforehand etc? Could be wrong , but a lot of info seems missing.
9. Still loads to read .( skipped a few pages). I got a pink triangle table , made by a guy who used to work for them . He died in a tragic acident. Anyway, the lid broke, and id like a cheap replacement. Are lids the same size? What i dont/ didnt like about record companies ripping us off; metallica master of puppets - first pressing dreadful. They had to reissue it on double 12" format which is awesome. When castle records took over sabbaths catalogue, the cds were awful and were probably mastered in a broom cupboard.dreadful ! There are many more examples that you will come up with ,)
10. What should've happened is for Taylor Hawkins to guest on drums, Dave grohl vocals etc. that would've been better IMHO
11. Does this mean heather mills, will be there also playing Courtney love ?
12. Don't really know what to say. I remember where I used to work in a place, where me and my bosses played CDs everyday . Unfortunately , I had to endure about 2 hours of torture one day. It was my bosses turn to put something on.must have been about 2 hours of Ravi Shankar. Tedium at its worst. Obviously talented and more respected than his brother Michael. Rip anyway
13. Go back to the mid '8os. Me with loads of hair, metal t shirts daily ,jeans etc. in the workplace. I stood outa little(it was an advertising co. where I worked) Got talking to various people ( some are my best mates now) . I n that building was: keyboard players singers 1 superb guitarist and me. We formed a couple of birthday bands.we used to work around the corner from Denmark street and were always in there. When you go for job interviews. ,people find our anyway. People in this co. I work know I play bass When I started working as a temp. I couldn't work late on tues due to band practice. People find out anyhow in conversation. I guess
14. First thing you need to do, upload pics. Then you have to name a price you hope to get. Signatures on Bass; depends who it is tbh. Good luck
15. Thanks Nige,) interesting... So I'm stuck with the jd bass. Not a bad thing I suppose. Back to square one..,,
16. That fender is sooo niiice,)
17. Yeah , bit bland tbh
18.
Start with the 3 root notes. There’s not really much more to it. If you want to elaborate just play around those notes. That's what I did , when I used to do it. Let Mr. Guitar have the spotlight ,)
19.
DO NOT DEFRET THE JD!! Truckstop
Is that because it won't raawk? ,)
20. Okay , nobody has too many basses.( apologies for daft topic); The market is slow, so selling things is a pain .Also, I don't really want to do eBay ,as I find Basschat better(when bug is fixed) Anyhow, please have a look at my sig below. Washburn status is staying. I really don't wanna sell the Tele bass , as next to the Washburn is the best feel of my basses. What I was thinking of doing, was defretting the jd bass, and selling the vester . I love the vester , but there aren't many jd basses about and it makes a good ornament in the flat) ; 8string? Not for me really,as I got a fantastic boss unit that replicates it and more. 5 string? Love it , but was thinking of keeping one of the others and tuning bead permanently.also, maybe I'm better using a headless 5string . 6 string? Hardly used, but recently enjoy noodling in bedroom, Acoustic bass? Do I really need it?love the colour. Please feel free to give me advice/ criticism Cheers
