1. I had a 1999 ABM EVO C115 Combo 500 and the Mini 4x8" cab, a great sound but in all honesty, a Hartke 4.5 sounded much better and the Ampeg SVT II plus an 8x10" had a good sound for me but the Ashdown gear was much more versatile. If you want a set up that can work well for different styles, then the Ashdown gear is hard to beat and it is British, well, some of it is.
2. Is the 4x10 4 or 8 ohms? Matts played through that amp, wow.
3. Nice bass, good price, put the 5 string pups that are for sale on here and you're onto a Michael.
4. You crafty sh*tehawk.
5. I think Alex will be chuffed that you were inspired by his bass, it's a beauty.
6. £799, no way!
7. You should have put some shades on that LED, my retinas have just started to fry. Kev, I am made up for you. I think you have found your sonic nirvana. So, when are you letting me have first dibs?
8. That's creamy goodness if ever I've seen it. Nice upgrade too.
9. Son of a preacher man, the Dusty version. Pure class.
10. Great "for sale" thread, clear, honest, informative and realistic price. . Basschat personified.
11. The things you find in peoples attics!
12. I have fond memories of Peavey gear, 1820 cab, 2x15" BW, 1X15" Combo 300 and it always sounded good, was built like a bomb shelter but the weight was an issue. I think you should sack the Superfly and use the Shuttle through a 4x10" or 3x10" 4 ohm cab with high sensitivity. 103 dbs +.
13. My Jazz and Precision sound much, much better through the normal "heavy" speakers in the cab I have now, then they did through the neos in my AccuGrooves. Neos are, for me, a bit light in umph, and I found I liked 10's better than 12's. It's a strange and frieghtening world of gas we live in, be on your guard at all times.
14.
SOLD, PAID FOR AND COLLECTED!!! And all by 10.15am! Thanks Phil, hope you enjoy using it on your gig this afternoon... Thanks again to all potential buyers! Etienne
Did you sell it to a guy from Wallasey?
15. Crown XTi 1000, solid, powerful, clean tone and the fan doesn't come on until you start to dig in. £299 on the 'Bay. Fans are loud though.
16. Well at least I can pop down the road to try it out now.
17. No, sorry. I was wondering if the actor John Simm was a patron of your Uni.
18. It's always worth a try but not on Basschat. Everyone is trying to upgrade to higher specs, lower weight, better tone. I bet your rig sounds great but heavy.
