Total Watts

  1. peavey 700w head,total crap and weighed a ton.,behringer 4x10 combo,sounded like a wet fart!
  2. just like the old days, knocking ashdown!lol. All though not so many on here as there used to be,they must be doing something right at last!Ive never had a problem with them in the last 8 years ive used them and am still using one today. Not everyone will like ashdown same as not everyone likes ampeg, markbass etc.thats how it is and is a good thing as people still have lots of choice.
  3. email ashdown about the wattage etc, they are very helpful.I used ashdown 10's with 15's for years and always produced a nice sound.Bass players have been using the two together for several years, that was the thing to do.Its only recently that certain people say you should not put the two together,.why i dont really know, but it has worked for thousands of gigs!
  4. steve the pikeman.met up halfway to swap our basses, great communication,a pleasure.Highly recommended.
  5. go for the longscale jaguar, bit more money but got to be worth it.ive just got one and love it.if you like the ashdown sound upgrade to their touring range which are not that exspensive.

  10. wish i could answer that as i had a guitard belting out black night in one ear and a bassist trying out and buying an abm head in the other!i dont think theres much difference in the mibass head to an abm head to be honest.i did prefer it with the bass boost on and the sliders do make a big difference unlike the rotary controls.i did crank it up and the sound kept clean.much better than ashdowns Lg heads.why is it though you cant crank up the input more than 9 o'clock on most ashdowns before it starts clipping?

  12. i tried the mibass head in pmt the other day.the 220 would not imo be loud enough for most gigs but the 550 definately had enough power.i tried it through an abm 1x15 cab and it sounded ok.so a mibass combo might be the answer whenever they are available as long as they are not overpriced!
  13. have used markbass before at a charity bash and was impressed, although that one wasnt light weight!maybe i could just screw some casters on the bottom of my combo, save a little carrying or compact cab with a lightweight head.will have to see whats about.
  14. am looking to change my ashdown klystron 1x15 combo for somthing lighter.Any ideas under 30kg as my back is giving up!1x15 or 2x10 and cheap, lol.
  15. Always been good to me,cant praise them enough.
