8.
Hi Steve, My name is Felix Dawes, I'm 14, and I was wondering if you could teach me the bass guitar! I live in Oxton which is about 5 minutes away from B'head Tunnel entrance. could you give me an email at: [email protected] About what you are doing, and if you could fit me in? thanks Felix
Hi Felix I've sent you an email as regards parents/guardians.
9. Nice decking.
10. We had our living room window put through a couple of months ago, bad in itself but my wife had been sitting in the spot where the brick embedded in the wall only 2 mins before it happened, she also would have been showered in glass as the window exploded. This happened at 12.30 am, Sunday morning, we phoned the police and they said that because it wasn't a serious crime, they wouldn't come out, after I lost my rag, they sent someone, who turned up a 4.00 pm, Sunday afterenoon. That was kids, being "kids", the officer told us. Anyway, good luck with the sales and I hope you have found somewhere safer for you and you girlfriend.
11. I have a pick-axe handle behind the front door for such occasions. I'm not kidding.
12. You and the Status look cool.
13. Yes you did Dan, several times. What we need to do, is buy all the 4.5 speakers and mount them in Negative Inversion chamber adjusted enclosuers.
14. Status basses are still not common in the U.K. but, they are a lot cheaper than £1000, with dents. Is there a case with it and as Oldgit said, whats the serial number. Also, Bonjour.
15. Sorry, that didn't come out right. Blue Dawn is the colour of the bass.
16.
i would have, dont worry price and paypal?? the former will get interest, the latter will make people more secure about buying from you introductions thread ftw
Nice bass Kev. Have you dyed your hair? That's a great colour, blue dawn?
17.
Thats interesting to know about the neck,i found mine the same, sort of easy to flex is the only way i can describe it.
Totally spot on. I used to have nightmares about the neck going limp mid gig. It sounded dead above the 9th fret and had dead spots all over it. I only ever used it live as a backup, if I broke a string. It sounded great recorded and had a huge bottom end. It had a nice neck shape and looked great. It had rough edges on the frets and the binding was a bit iffy too. Compared to my KGB headless, which is the best playing bass I have ever used, it was a bit disappointing. I still want it back.
18. Sorry Finnbass, i can't. Massive apologies for being ignorant and biased, without trying Phil Jones gear. Buy with your ears. It took me long enough to realise this.
19.
Not mine, but i had a go on my mates Jaydee supernatural last nightl. it was left handed so i could'nt really tell much about it apart from being one of the heaviest basses i have held. he bought it off a Basschatter who i thinks regrets selling it and i wont say how much for save embarrassing him
Is there any way you can incapacicitate him and get it back?
20. Which thread?
21. Try it, then bin it. Get an amp with some power and a cab that can handle it.
22. I love Tom Jenkinson but I missed him at the Liverpool Phil' last Sat. He uses a warwick and Tech Amp gear but there is a multi thousand watt PA in-between. From what I've seen at Squarepusher gigs, he has the amp right next to him, like a monitor. So any good, clear, powerful combo would be ok. Having said that, he has the amp and a feed to a monitor from the PA to mix his bass and front of house sound. I think you need a really powerful amp, so as to cope with all the sub-bass, going into a full range speaker, that can handle all of the amp's power. Schroeder, I think are the loudest of cabs, for what you put in them, ie, watts. I'm really excited that there is another Basschatter who is into Tom, as I think he is one of the worlds most underrated bassists and a brilliant drummer too. Go Plastic, was amazing but Ultra Visitor is on a different level. Speak soon, Steve.
23. You know it's Norm. If you had have put the amp up for sale last year, I would have bitten your bollocks off. Was I supposed to say "bitten your arm off". The amount of people who have missed dismemberment on Basschat is scarey. The amount of smileys is becoming an issue.
24. Jaydee Mark King in opalescent white, 1986. Bought it through Hessey's in Liverpool for cost, £795, Colin was the best music shop manager in history. Bound neck and headstock, full of dead spots, could never get the action right. Has a chip out of the finish by the controls. Sold it in 1996 for £450 and an Alesis Midiverb, what a tit. I know who has it and Beerdragon has tracked him down in North Wales but he doesn't want to part with it. Boohoo.
