  1. You could just go for one of those theee in one packages - 2ch interface, cans and a condenser for around £200 or so. Presonus and Focusrite do them. Though for electric guitars people seem to favour dynamics like the trusty old sm57. I have a few Prodipe TT1’s that look like they came from the same factory that make the M80 for Telefunken (USA).
  2. Need to get round to replacing the 12” driver in my Peterson combo, too. It had one of those EV 12Ls that guitarists love. I wasn’t that bothered, so I sold the driver, intending to replace it with something a lot lighter.
  3. Just ordered the Fane 👍🏻
  4. Alex said in the other thread that they are still working on one. Guess it might be a while though.
  5. That went a bit weird! Ah well. I’d still be interested to see what the amp will look like.
  6. No worries at all Stew - it’s more of a chance thing really. Certainly not wanting anyone to go out of their way!!!
  7. Ah, man - isolation sucks! I’d love to have an excuse to pop over the bridge. Stupid Covid. I probably picked the worst time to try to set this up!
  8. Bought these for a bass - eBay cheapies. They don’t do bass!!! Should suit a guitar though. Yours for postage 🙂
  9. For one scary moment, I thought you’d uploaded the wrong picture, from your “private collection”. Better get my eyes checked....
  10. I can’t find Grolsch anywhere anyway. Can’t even remember if I like it!
  11. I thank you, Sir!
  12. Can I get on the list for the next batch please @ped?
  13. Ola! I’ve seen these Basschat relays work wonders previously. Thought I’d see if we can pull off another one! @Sardar has kindly offered a rack trolley in the recycling forum, and understandably it is collection only from Newbury (centre); I am currently isolating due to my two kids knowing someone with symptoms (four whole year groups have been sent home this week!), so I want to make sure I’m not potentially/ inadvertently passing on the ‘rona! Are any Basschatters Westward bound from Newbury in the near future fancy partaking please?!
  14. That would be ideal for me... if Swansea was closer to Newbury! Not travelling down this neck of the woods to enjoy the rain any time soon, are you?
  15. You didn’t ruin it, the last person did! I think making it a player is the most fitting tribute to any instrument. Think of it like a castle - very few of them are 100% original!
  16. Looking forward to seeing this process. Still absolutely love the Kay you did (still want first dibs should you sell, too!)
  17. Ooh, looky looky! 799 dollars...
  18. Love the finish on this one, is there an accompanying thread?
  19. Or what sized cab would get the best out of that Fane driver? I’ve got a small amp module (20w) that I put together from a kit in the house somewhere. It worked on a 9v battery. I was going to put it in a pedal housing to use as a tiny amp and also separately to drive some spring reverb tanks. Damned if I can find it now though!
  20. I was waiting or the Pearl Jam bass line!!! That is fantastic. Love it.
  21. I was going to build a minimalist cube amp a few years ago (I like to sketch when I’m bored). I wanted to round the edges off and paint it a nice sky blue. Dug my notepad out and took a snap for you. Input & power at the back, volume & power switch on the front.
  22. Oh, hang on, the Ux1 doesn’t have midi - it’s audio only. Just read up on it though, you should be able to use the Moog effectively as a Midi interface with your computer. So the midi is over USB, but then the MIDI DIN sockets can patch up to the MIDI DIN sockets on your other equipment. You could then patch the audio outs from those devices through your Behringer mixer to your audio interface. Oooh, the possibilities!!!
  23. For my suggestion about the Moog, you’d need to go midi out from your computer interface to midi in on the Moog, then audio out from the Moog to audio in on the interface. The Dr Sample was a while ago for me, but I think you had to be quite on the ball if sampling directly, as I don’t think there was an editing function on board for trimming the samples. Probably could dump them to disc but then that might be tricky to find a card reader for your computer!
  24. I had one for a short while, then child number 1 was born, and I sold it (just because it wasn’t being used). Might pick up a Teenage Engineering PO 33 instead. WRT your midi set up, you could have your DAW sequencing your Moog playing a choon, then record the Moog audio output back in to your DAW while you fiddle with all the knobs. That’s fun.
  25. Yeah, you should sell the sampler... to me!
