  1. Fiending for a CAPO... Better start saving.

  2. Gotta love online sellers who live in the derrière end of nowhere but refuse to post pedals*

      It’s just a pedal? What a cockwomble 🙄

      Lozz196

Yeah, I just naturally assumed bass/heavy amp-head/cab. Whatever next, pick up plectrums?

Yah there's a guy local to me like that. Why do online at all like?

  3. Keep seeing Doom 2's on Reverb with stupidly high prices... I'll regret having to turn down the one offered to me during lockdown forever 😩

  4. Accidentally plugged my Subspace into the 18v output... Now it won't turn on 🙃

Oh dear!  I'll remember to not do that with mine then.

Oh No! Hopefully it will only be a sacrificial fuse that has blown. Have you contacted Hamstead for a repair quote?

    3. AinsleyWalker

      AinsleyWalker

@Jean-Luc Pickguard Yes I did! They said hopefully the same thing. I'll be sending it off to them in a week or two. Silver lining is at least I did this to a UK-made pedal, I suppose!

  5. Just seen someone sold an Endangered Audio Research AD4096 for under 200 on here a few weeks back. My head hurts.

@Bunion Looks like I'm back to checking 'Effects for Sale' morning and night haha

      Welcome to my world 😂🤣

  6. Shout outs to Facebook sellers listing massive job-lots with prices for individual items, who then go and turn down serious buyers looking to buy an individual item in the hope that someone will take the lot instead... So naive.

  7. Trying to sell gear on FB marketplace is torturous. I swear people get a kick out of wasting your time.

      “What’s your best price?”

      The one it’s advertised at!

      “What’s your best price?”

Well my best price would be enough to pay off my mortgage but I doubt you’d find that reasonable 🤣

My response would be "What's your best offer?".

  8. All these years I thought that Sterling was a budget line from Musicman, like Sub.. rather than a model of bass...

I have an EB Musicman Sterling. It rapidly became my go to bass. Top notch.

  9. Music shops near London that sell speaker cables (not the bigger ones, the ones with tips like instrument cables)? Neither BassGallery or any Denmark Street shops have any listed. Andertons do, but its a bit further out

(Can't call anywhere as my phone is out of action until tomorrow)

I have some I think in my bag of bits, made with chunky high current cable and Neutrik connectors. How long do you need, and how many? Am sure we can agree a fair price.

      Guitar Guitar in Camden maybe?

No worries guys I drove over to Andertons as it was only about 25mins away

  10. Is anywhere doing pedal repairs at the moment? The person I've used previously isn't responding to emails.

Amusingly coincidental ad.. Might give them a ring... I'm constantly smelling GAS at the moment...

  12. How long do Fender typically keep models in production?
I'm really interested in getting hold of a ultra jazz bass V in mocha burst in the next year or so but not sure if they'll still be manufacturing them.

@ead unfortunate but true. I remember my mate had a MIM jazz when we were younger and it was a great bass, but I got one recently and didn't like it at all. Ended up trading it.

    3. ead

      ead

To be fair to MIMs. I do believe they consistency and quality has improved in the last few years, but maybe yours slipped through the net.  I'm more of an MIJ/CIJ guy when it comes to Fenders though.

Fender traditionally keep successful product ranges for about seven years. However, they are now looking at updating successful ranges every three or four years.

  13. Sell me your Tone Hammer! 👀

  14. Lesson I've learnt this week is never window shop if you can't buy. My head has been turned....

  15. Anyone else receive a message from monicabrownb asking them to email her? I can't tell if it's a genuine new user who might be interested in something I'm selling, or it's a phishing/spam account.

  16. Quick 'trusted seller' post for Big Bass Man, sent me an MXR bass octave deluxe boxed in great condition, came within 1 day of posting. Cheers!

  17. I've been playing for 11 years now, mostly self taught and I know a fair bit of theory but I've never actually sat down and learnt scales/modes etc and it's about time I think. Got a friend who's a pro bass player helping me out but any advice/suggestions/resources would be appreciated!

If you haven’t already got it, I would highly recommend this book, it covers the major and minor scales, and there’s some great workouts, I’ve had it years and I still use it 🙂

@Reggaebass oh that reminds me I have lots of similar books here that were given to me back when I started (I was a stubborn teenager and didn't want to learn scales/modes sigh) but better late than never!
      Thanks for the suggestion

  18. My MuTron Micro-Tron IV arrived today! Taken me a minute to get my head around how to get the tones I want, but first impressions are great!

  19. The day before payday the bass I was looking at on a shop's site gets sold. Typical :(

3 now listed, a fourth coming later today. Sorry for the shameless plug, but you did say you were looking... 🙂

  20. Is it not against the rules to post an item for sale on here asking for the buyer to send money through Paypal Friends & Family? If not, it should be!! I see at least 1 scammer get called out on Facebook per week and it's ALWAYS because the buyer sent payment through F&F.

I've used F&F a few times - usually when it's someone I've had some contact / discussion with, and had time to decide whether I have any cause for concern...
I wouldn't use it for some stranger on a Facebook group though

Buyers choice, use your common sense......

If the buyer can’t or won’t collect, them I insist on friends and family, or bank transfer. I know several people who were scammed by people buying stuff, then claiming is not received, damaged, faulty etc. My sister-in-law even had an empty box returned to her by a buyer.

  21. Typical, multiples of the pedal you want when you don't have the money, and when you do.. None in sight :( Sell me a Cali76 Compact Bass compressor!

  22. Sod's law that someone offers to sell you their pedal as soon as you've given in to waiting and bought a brand new one 😭

    1. Daz39

      Daz39

A variant of this is suddenly seeing a pedal on For Sale that you've been waiting for yonks to see, but missing the sale by about 3 minutes...
