A timeless classic. Sat in the DeLorean at a technical conference I was at in Austin in April. The resizing jacket and hoverboard were there too. Got pics but lost them when I had to reset my work iphone for forgetting the pin code I reset while in an inebriated state on same said trip...

      is that the ACG?

      Entirely unrelated Luke!

As in yes it's for a bass, no it's not ACG related!

  2. Any Peavey Black Widow experts able to tell me what the difference between a 1505KA and a 1505KADT is?

Spec sheet says the KADT has a wider bandwidth than the DT.  Link to spec sheet here

I'd forgotten that the Hyperdrive is good! :)

I must dust mine off & reintroduce to the pedalboard! :)

Good? Good? It’s the best drive pedal ever invented (ymmv) but it’s size is against it...

  4. Currently GASing for a neck through Warwick Thumb 5 string... It's either @Kev's fault, or I've been listening to too much Ryan Martinie this week... or both...

If you are flexible on the neck through, there is one in London that could fit the bill. On the Bass Players Market UK Facebook page. (No connection to seller, just acting on the coincidence of seeing a Thumb being mentioned twice in quick succession!)

It'd have to be the neck through for me...

"Welcome to try it if I buy, but I'm not exactly next door to you!"

Thank you.  I was really only pulling your leg.  Who knows though?  We might meet at a Bass Bash or other music related event so I may get to call your bluff after all.

I wish you luck with your GAS.  May it not involve a second mortgage.

  7. Having just seen the trailer for "The First Purge" I was wondering - do you ever wish you had a time-limited free pass to respond to some posts on here with your first reaction?

This Purge thing, is that where for 24 hours everyone can kill eachother etc without police intervention? Sounds like an average football match.

I often wish it was a cartoon world and things like safes or pianos could fall on some folks heads but not kill them of course. Just cause a fantastic array of stars and an 18 inch bump on their heads for a while!

  8. Heads up Ibanez fans, there’s an SR1405T (neck through version) for sale on Facebook group “Bass players sell - buy - swap-UK only” (S4 7, wherever in the country that is!). No affiliation with seller. I know they’re rare, and kind find the Ibanez thread...

@Dood - yes, that was my 1006 but it's gone now, and I now have a 1206 as my main bass, though was disappointed to find I couldn't get an East uni pre into the cavity (spent an hour or more with John East trying to figure it out, but it simply won't fit!).

I'd be more interested in the Original 60s to be honest, but they didn't have one to try in GG... I intentionally stayed away from the CS stuff they had!!!

Those rolled edges are exactly what you get on proper vintage - it's just part of the effect

It was my first bass, albeit back in the late 80s when they were "made in Japan" models. It got sold off years ago and I decided to get a replacement once I was back on my feet, opting for another Japanese Fender 50s P-bass. Interestingly the Japanese models now (or mine at least) don't have that wide neck, opting for a more conventional C shape. I did like the old neck but mine is still pretty cool.

      Cheers man.

I asked the seller of the bass I'm interested if he can get quotes for postage last night, hopefully he gets back to me shortly - and hopefully he just doesn't laugh in my face and say no way will he post it to NI 😅

  22. Does anybody have an Ashdown CTM15 schematic?

    1. Sibob

      Sibob

Tried speaking to Ashdown? They're very helpful, with excellent customer service usually. Even if they don't offer a schematic (it is their IP of course), they may offer to help with a repair.

    2. Bigwan

      Bigwan

Not needed for a repair Si. As Baldrick would say "I have a cunning plan"... One I don't think Ashdown would be interested in assisting with!

I'm the same, I love the idea of a 'Ray but the SB14 and Ray34 tasters I tried never really floated my boat sadly.

I bought a cheapo OLP 4-string off the 'bay, it sounded fine but I didn't get on at all with the clubby neck... subsequently bought a gorgeous fretless Jaydee neck from Greenolive of this parish, and now it's fabulous.

    4. Bigwan

      Bigwan

I'd imagine a used Ray35 may be the answer. Thought I'd get hands on with one in Guitarguitar in Glasgow on Sunday, but nobody seemed interested in helping out a poor bass player - too many guitards to be helped instead...
