  1. Yes, this is a good app. I use the iPad version. Slowing down and looping difficult passages is useful, and another good trick is to pitch shift the track up an octave, which can make the bass line stand out.
  2. Agree with all the positive comments above. Excellent, reliable devices. I have them on both my gigging basses.
  3. I remember library music like this becoming popular in the mid 90s. There were a number of great compilations released at the time, such as this one: https://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Sound-Gallery/release/608134
  4. Yeah, I got a ticket for this. Was looking forward to seeing TL on bass in this band so it’s a bit disappointing he’s left.
  5. Yes, I'm sure Rocco won't be playing, sadly. See "Tower Of Power's Statement On Rocco" at the end of this article: https://www.bassplayer.com/artists/rocco
  6. Not my cup of tea, and a crazy price. But I do like the sensible separate control plate. I don't think I've seen that on a new Fender P before?
  7. 5 string control diagram, but surely the same for the 4: http://www.cnjradio.net/fendergits/SD0196500APg4.pdf
  8. The Bass Gallery have a couple of Spectors in stock, according to their website: https://thebassgallery.com/collections/bass?_=pf&pf_v_manufacturer=Spector
  9. Another post rock band from the late nineties, Ui. Made a couple of decent albums
  10. They've just posted another interesting one:
  11. A decent buy at the original price, but at £650 that's a steal.
  12. The Drive control is essentially a variable AGS, so just turn it all the way down.
  13. Here's my Shergold Marathon 8 string. I have read that they only made about 50 of them in total, so I reckon my lefty is probably unique.
  14. Very pleased that one of my bands is now doing this. Great fun to play!
  15. Do you need a permit to export from the US as well as the UK import permit?
  16. Yes, treble side is what you need. Get in touch with Hipshot customer services to confirm. They are prompt and very helpful in my experience.
  17. I was able to update my own Mid-2012 MBP to Mojave. I would say you're not missing much, unless you really want Dark Mode. I'm also seeing some poor performance compared to High Sierra.
  18. Very interesting read. I’ve long hankered after a Stingray myself and have been looking closely at some used examples. It’s worth noting that the Classic Stingray has the 2 band EQ, which supposedly sound warmer and less scooped.
  19. Not heard of this one. At work we all use Retina MacBook Pro’s, now 5 years old with no screen problems. The keyboards on the latest models are another story though....
  20. You can order one here https://www.adkguitar.com/products/reverend-left-handed-mike-watt-wattplower-electric-bass-satin-emerald-green quite tempting....
  21. Be aware that the database isn't completely up to date. My 2002 BMW motorcycle was exempt when I checked a few months ago, but wasn't when I looked again recently.
  22. Voice Memos does a surprisingly good job just using the iPhone's built in mic
  23. Some confusion here, described as a Jazz but it’s a Precision. Decent price: https://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/fender-american-standard-jazz-bass-left-handed/1318947510
  24. It seems he’s made a bass for Tim Lefebvre:
  25. I don't know about the coating but I when I first tried flats (D'Addario Chromes) I found my articulation was poor until I'd got used to the feel, which took a couple of weeks. I think it was the difference in friction between fingers and string, compared to rounds.
