This is a good point. Regarding poor quality and low volume, are you using Bluetooth headphones with the Vox? If so, try a set of wired ones.
-
It's three things in one box. It's a high quality headphone amplifier. Connect your bass, adjust gain, volume and EQ to taste, plug headphones into it and play. You can also plug in an additional audio signal, such as your phone, useful for playing along with tunes. So it will replace your Vox and should be noticeably better. It's also a USB audio interface. Connect it to a computer with a USB cable and it will show up as an input, allowing you to record into an application like Pro Tools or Garage Band. All the blurb in that review is about this functionality - converting analog (your bass) to digital and back again. And it's also a pre-amp, so you can use its output to go straight into a PA, for example. Mine sits on a table and is used for headphone practise only, and I really like it.

The Barefaced 210 would be a good bet.

Worst and best versions of the same Beatles tunes

Here’s a great laid back take on Taxman: -
I'd agree with that assessment. I don't think you could describe the Sire as simply having rolled edges, it's a fully rounded edge profile. Probably feels quite nice though!

I’ve always liked this one. -
I like my Mono Bass Sleeve, mainly due to its huge pocket that swallows leads, pedals, even a laptop. It’s comfortable on my back and seems pretty durable after four years of regular use.

Legacy Mac driver. I knew it would happen. I am still fed up about it :(
pineweasel replied to Owen's topic in Recording
The other problem is that Apple have now made it very difficult to obtain older OS installers, so unless you have the 10.6 or 10.7 DVD you could be stuck. -

pineweasel replied to Owen's topic in Recording
There's no workaround; to use the Ozonic you need the driver, but the driver will only work on 10.7 or 10.6. Presumably you were running OS X 10.7 beforehand. Can't you reinstall the same OS version? -
Dear Guitarists and bassists.. Trus rod etiquette.
pineweasel replied to Nibody's topic in General Discussion
I bought a Stingray a while ago and have had to make a few truss rod adjustments. Ernie Ball actually specify the following in their FAQ: "You should make all adjustments with the strings where you would normally play them. Do not loosen the strings to adjust the truss rod." -
I went to his debut UK show back in the day, and the audience was full of musicians in awe of his technique. But it wasn’t a great gig. Once you looked beyond what he was doing the music was pretty bland, and I felt he didn’t really swing or groove at all.

Two of the very best 112 cabs available today?

Just spotted this while reading back through this interesting thread. Apparently TKS production is starting up again following a workshop move. There are some recent updates on Facebook. -

Massive outdoor Festivals? don't get it

Haven’t been to the Pyramid but the sound at all the other main stages has been excellent -
This is one of those persistent myths, but the 2 band EQ has always been boost and cut, as detailed in this 1978 manual: http://www.musicmanbass.global/1978-hangtag-manual/
-
Because the workshop is downstairs there's often no staff in the shop, so they understandably don't want punters wandering in and out. I've found them friendly and helpful whenever I've been in.

Sounds like a connectivity problem. Do other internet service, e.g email, work? Do you have another browser to try, such as Google Chrome?
-
Yes, that would work. Mine is a GA-1.
-
I've found this too, so for gigs I use a cheap Korg tuner plugged into the tuner output of my amp.

I always thought Fender’s guide was pretty good: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/articles/214343843-How-do-I-set-up-my-bass-guitar-properly-

Mine has been in the loft for twenty years. Maybe I should get it out?

Is this the weakest line up ever for Glastonbury?
pineweasel replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion
Absolutely agree with this. Glastonbury is simply on a different scale to any of the smaller festivals, more like a medium sized town full of performances and craft of all kinds. You only see the big stages on TV and in the papers but there is so much more. I've read there are around 100 stages in all and I can believe it. Something I've learnt over the years is not to have a long list of must-see bands, as you will never get to all of them. It takes a long time to get from place to place, and you will get distracted by other stuff you find en route. I love a smaller festival too - last year I really enjoyed End Of The Road - but there really is nothing like Glastonbury. Oh, and I think the line up this year is a bit lame too, but it really doesn't matter. -
