1. EasyJet charge extra for hold baggage, so most passengers will try to carry as much as possible as hand luggage. I was one of the final boarders on my last EasyJet flight and it was chaotic, as passengers searched for free space in the already crammed overhead lockers. So if you take your U-Bass, make sure you are on board early and keep an eye on it.
2. Two bands whose excellent early records were characterised by distinctive, prominent basslines.
3. Rocco is in the band: https://twitter.com/roccoprestia/status/660919280263946242
4.
When I got it it was dead and just made pops and bangs. Then I put a battery in it! Now its fine
The volume control on my Progressive has an active/passive pull pot, usefully. Pull it out and it works with no battery.
5. If you can track down a Shergold Marathon it's a decent option. I have one and I'd say it's lighter than any of my Fenders. Neck heavy but a wide leather strap deals with that. But as mentioned, rare; I believe they only made around 50.
6. There's a guy on the leftybassist forum who's posted a detailed, very positive review.
7. I've just received my PB-Shorty left-hander, and it plays really well straight out of the box. I've found one tiny dent on the back of the neck, and the scratchplate has a slight warp, but I can live with that. Now about to spend £30 on some flats for my £17 bass!

9. What about the Sire Marcus Miller V7? Everyone seems to rave about them. Lefties available to order from Thomann, due in October.
10. On a RH guitar, you increase volume or open the tone by turning clockwise. So strictly speaking, on a mirrored lefty, you want the reverse, i.e open up by turning anti-clockwise. Most manufacturers now fit reversed pots, but back in the 70s Fender didn't. To be honest, the only time it really makes a difference in terms of playing technique is "violining" the volume with your little finger on a Stratocaster or similar, but I agree it is confusing and I think I'd do the same.
11. No availability date yet but you can order: http://www.thomann.de/gb/4_string_lefthanded_basses.html?filter=true&manufacturer%5B0%5D=Marcus%20Miller
12.
The hump my 4 string acoustic bass had between fret 10 and 17, a lot of sharp fret-ends and a too low cut bridge were fairly sure the reason mine was sold as a 'deko'.
I've just taken delivery of one of the LH Progressive 5-string basses, and whilst it's just about playable with a light touch, it really needs a fret dress. Still, for £39 I'm not complaining.
13. I'm going to come along with some more lefties - a Fender US Jazz and a Wal fretless - plus my Tone Hammer 500 & BF Super Compact.
14.
Anyone in London used http://www.kafristudios.co.uk/ ? I'm going there next month and wondered what to expect.
Was in there last week. Purpose built rooms in a railway arch, has a slightly unfinished feel to it but the gear was good and all set up ready for us. Only downside is no decent boozer nearby.
15.
1) With the gain knob on zero there is still volume! 2) None of my basses are "superhot" - and none of them (other than my Status, which I haven't yet used with the TH500) have onboard preamps. The three I have used so far are all passive J basses
It does sound like it might be faulty. As a reference point, I'm running an ordinary Fender Jazz into a TH500 and a Barefaced Super Compact. Leaving Drive on zero, I can confirm you get a signal with Gain at the minimum, but it's clean. As I increase the gain it begins to distort very slightly around 12 o'clock, and it's only by 3 o'clock it's producing a saturated overdriven sound.
16.
Apple only??? That's... hard to justify these days.
Not really in this case - it's just the amp simulation via a plugged in iPhone/iPad that's Apple only, and until recently you simply couldn't do low latency audio processing on Android.
17. Yes, it was the bearded guy from Allbang and Strummit. He'd sold me my first bass a few months before this appearance.
18. All my basses are hung on String Swing hangers, no problems at all.
19. Very interested to hear what you make of it. I've had my eye on one for a while; I take a Martin Backpacker guitar on trips but I'd rather take a bass.
20.
Have they got many left handers in there did anybody notice?
I was in there a few weeks ago and they had an American Standard Jazz, and a Ray 34, both at competitive prices.
21. I'm in the market for a nice left handed Jazz. I like the traditional Jazz sound and don't want an active instrument. I've tried, and been impressed by the 2012 Fender American Standard, but lefty options are limited to sunburst or black with a rosewood board. Having seen the high praise for Sandberg both here and elsewhere I reckon the California TT Passive might be a good alternative - two extra frets, superb fit and finish and, crucially, a wide choice of options and finishes at no extra cost to lefties. But, apart from a couple of YouTube videos, I've got no idea how they sound compared to the Fender. I can't find any to look at around London. Is anyone familiar with both and able to give an idea of how they compare soundwise?
