1. I had someone mail me asking about a bass I had once but it wasnt asking me to sell it or anything, he just wanted to know how it was feel/sound-wise since there isnt much of them popping up. Cant imagine your situation is that common?
2. I'd probably put most of it towards driving lessons (or if I already had a license) towards insurance/road tax etc. And leave enough to go to a really really good restaurant and treat myself and my girlfriend.
3.
Hmmm, they've gone out of their way with Photoshop then: http://www.alembic.com/info/fc_knobfest2010.html "The bass is now permanently on display at the Knobbersham Music Hall" To be fair, by all accounts it was a April Fool...
"waiter/waitress call button" Eh?
4. Few bands with excellent and noticable bass players/basslines Between the Buried and Me, Protest the Hero, Mudvayne, Karnivool (could be seen as metal depending on which song you're listening to), Cephalic Carnage (listen to Ohrwurm), Gojira, Monuments, Tesseract. Just to name a few
5. I use the rooms rig for 3 reasons. 1. I can't afford a decent rig. 2. I would have no way to transport it. 3. The place I practice has an Ampeg Svt 8x10 and svt heads so I have no need to
6. i played one a while ago and hated it. however about 2 months ago I played a Sterling Ray 34 in the guitar shop. less than a week later I bought the thing. I love it!
7. For the tendons in my wrist I was maybe 6 months healing. I think to be honest it was a wake up call I needed to change my right hand technique. Not had the problem since.
8. The way I see these things. If you're in any doubt at all, even just the tiniest little bit. Dont do it.
9. Bought a laptop from Rob, easy guy to deal with, quick delivery, well packaged etc. Can't ask for much more!
10. A few reasons. The main two being I don't feel I'm very good by any standards and I havent found a band that I've really felt like things "clicked".
11. Sold Dan my Spector Piezo 5 and when it arrived there was a problem with the jack, now repaired (I believe so) Would have no problem dealing with him again!
12. Not rock in the musical sense but there is a rock just randomly lying on my girlfriends bedroom floor. No idea how it got there (she doesnt either) but its been there for about 18 months and it feels wrong to move it. Its like having a pet rock.
13.
Polyester nylon mix?
That's the one
14.
Is it the ones with the press stud fastening sides?
Nope, ones made from what I can only guess is some form of plastic. I feel them melting to me if I get above 10 Degrees celsius.
15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9VLy1h3DYY&list=LLrCzKZdOiTmZho-LddwkpRA not by any means the heaviest but still pretty damn heavy
16. I own a pair of nike trousers which on occasion I have been known to wear. I justify them with the 'they're incredibly comfortable' argument, which in fairness they are incredibly comfy.
17. The last 2 sections of Vacuity by Gojira. seeing them live made Meshuggah seem like Katy Perry.
18.
"If you dance, I'll play" usually shuts them up. But if they agree then everyone's happy! Apart from the person trying to dance along to a randomn Tool bassline.
Never had that but I know several Tool basslines and I am on a train (bass wedged in) right now. So there may be a chance!
19. Travelling around with a bass on a bus/train. That and the fact that momatter how good I get, I'll never be happy with that.
20. +1 for the combination between picking and fretting hand being used.
21. Just noticed that comment. Pm'd!
