1. It was Les Claypool who made me decide "I'm going to to buy a bass". Since then I get some form of influence (more enjoyment than influence really) from so many bass players and artists.
2. Not a huge fan of how it sounds but technique wise the guys way better than I will ever be and I can appreciate that.
3. Bought from a fellow basschatter a few weeks ago. Warwick Thumb B.O Ltd 2006 Dirty Blonde. Weighs less than most guitars I've held nevermind basses!
4. I wouldn't be able to shut up about a new bass. I think everybody is in agreement that we don't or certainly shouldn't hide things like this from our other halves. The way I see it as long as you have enough money to live at the end of it spend as much as you see fit
5. This worked for me with my recent purchases. Act (or actually be) so excited about this new purchase she just can't bare to ruin the experience.
6. Not saving specifically for a bass but maybe a year or so worth of savings went into the Warwick I got last week.
7. Thought that said "making an electric chair". Need more sleep.
8. It's your property so yes. I recently sold a bass which was a gift but before I did I mentioned to the person who bought me it (in this case my mum) to see if she was okay with this. She understood it wasnt getting used and I sold it 3 days later.
9. Everytime I pick up my bass I tune. Generally the tuning pegs get knocked about a bit if it's been in the gig bag but if it's just been in the house it's generally fine.
10. Never liked these basses but that one sure is pretty!
11. I had these and paid a good 70 quid more than this for them at the time. I then broke them like an idiot. If I hadnt just shelled out on a pair of Shure in-ears I'd be having these. They sound fantastic.
12. Just bought a Zoom B9.1 ut from Peter. No problems at all Cheers, Cameron
13.
+1 i was sacked by email in January from a Kate Bush Tribute band. Great music but completely inexperienced arses. I was better off out!
At least you got an e-mail. I got a "I thought you knew we had another bass player.". What an arse. His loss though.
14. I never use my amp because I live in a small flat with pshycopaths for neighbours. I generally stop playing when anybody else in the house is sleeping and always play with headphones in. Would be nice to use an amp properly but I'm not too fussed.
15. Its always good for for me in Opera and Dolphin Browser (on Android).
16. Karnivool - new day. For such a spacious sounding song there is far too much going on for me to handle.
17. The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of us is the Killer Tesseract - Altered State Cant think of any more that jump out at me.
18. Think I may have an old set lying around somewhere. If not I'm due a restring of my basses anyways
19. Had two lessons from Nick Schendzielos (Cephalic Carnage/Job for a Cowboy). Learned more in those two hours than in 6 months
20. Arif Mirabdbaghi Les Claypool Ryan Martinie Nick schendzielos Evan Brewer Amos Williams Loads more but these are the ones I'm listening to mostly at the moment
