I'm sure the OP found all that advice really helpful...loads of great basses to choose from but no definitive answer. Seems like there is lots of choice in all price ranges nowadays.

The Yamahas are amazing VFM....you'll be hard pushed to find a bass of similar quality in the price range. That's where I'd spend my money..

I was tempted...then realised that I don't need one as I have a number of things which do a similar job... More for everybody else, I suppose
