  1. IIRC it is the only 4 string SC Harlot Alan made. This has been owned by a number of BCers - I think we're all agreed it's a great bass
  2. You must be a very proud father...😉😉
  3. I sold a G&L recently to another BCer - however they did try many of my basses and was amazed by the classic Bass Collection Nanyo customised for me by @Andyjr1515. The basses themselves are excellent - add the @Andyjr1515 factor and you can't go wrong.
  4. Laurence came to a couple of the Herts Bashes - top fella - should be a great freebie
  5. I've bought numerous basses on eBay with mixed results. Thankfully eBay/ PayPal protect their buyers so will support most return claims. Crossing the road can be risky...if you really want the item you'll have to take the risk
  6. Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!! Not sure if I need to add one more "i" to the spelling. GLWTS
  7. My first bass was the 1A - I'm tempted - trying to downsize though
  8. Got one...monster amps...ideal for getting back at noisy neighbours. They can, of course, be used to blow away the audience when gigging starts again. GLWTS
  9. Had a low profile on here recently....Mum died on 27th June following a stroke and bleed on the brain.

Her suffering has come to an end.

      Very sorry to hear that.

Sorry for your loss, stay strong; but don't be afraid to yell, scream and kick the S*** out of a cushion or two in private if it helps.

Sorry to hear your news Sir, my thoughts are with you,

  11. Sodium???
  12. G&L now sold The Spector still available though I may change my mind when I play it next.
  13. How am I supposed to downsize with gear like this being posted!! I've traded with Bernard before - absolute gent - trying my best not to impulse buy.. GLWTS
  14. You don't need to buy a Euro if you want a neck thru - the Korean ones are excellent VFM and IMO pretty close to the Euros. I actually sold my Euro and kept the Korean because there is so little difference..
  15. Sold Steve my G&L M2000 - I think I was lucky that this was the only bass - he was interested in buying several!! Steve also bought several Hard Rock Cafe and Planet Hollywood collectables and jackets. Another asset to this fantastic forum - happy to trade again (depending on what he's after obviously)...😍😍
  16. Then this might be right up your street.. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/trace-elliot-warwick-kit-bag-pedal-bag-promo-collectable/324195094969?hash=item4b7b8891b9:g:b-UAAOSwCi5e4jQz

  17. Check "Luthiery courses" on Google. There used to be courses available local to me which I didn't take advantage of. When I finally decided to jump in they had stopped putting them on due to lack of interest.
  18. You wouldn't call it "a looker" though, would you...
  19. Wait for the emails to start arriving
  20. virtually everything by Weather Report??
  21. IME Booking through a broker like Interparcel is generally less expensive than going through the courier itself. If length is a problem (ooh err, matron) have you considered removing the neck?
  22. Sounds like a democracy but in fact it's a dictatorship in disguise...the owner made the only vote that counts, coincidentally it's the same as mine. Nice to know my voice was heard though...😀
  23. I realise that this is not a democracy (as introduced by the Greeks over two thousand years ago) but my vote would be for the "flaunt it" option. Rog obviously gets the only vote that counts.
  24. New message from: kelbar76 (10) I will have a look now, thank you for the information I hadn’t realised it was important, I don’t know much about guitars only how to play a little and my dad is getting forgetful so wasn’t very helpful with advice Reply Make an offer Your previous message The serial No will be either on the back of the headstock or inside the body (through the f holes). I sent a link but it seems to have been blocked (as per ebay guide lines). You can find the link by Googling "where is the serial number on a vintage Hofner violin bass". You might want to post an image of the back of the headstock and the f holes so serious potential buyers can see what they're buying. I can't bid till I see that this is genuine - there are lots of cheap copies available which somebody might try to pass off as the Real McCoy. I'm sure that you understand. kelbar76: Ok, thanks, I can’t see one on there but not sure if I’m looking in the wrong place
