  1. I think that's roughly what I sold mine for...
  2. Suggest some dates??? As @Lozz196 said, in the past we've suffered from scheduling on the same dates as the F1 British Grand Prix and Wimbledon Men's Final. I favour July but this may not be best for others.
  3. Been saying it for ages - class D just doesn't compete with your vintage A/B...
  4. My understanding is that most of the parts that British Audio had, have sold. They didn't respond when I tried to buy a replacement power board for my AH300 12. I got in touch with Guy at Ashdown who recommended Stan at Surrey Amps, who bought many of the TE parts following the Peavey takeover. He too has sold most of what he had but it might be worth a try: https://www.surreyamps.co.uk/ If all else fails speak to Guy or Dave Green at Ashdown - they know the TE spec, both having worked at TE in the heyday and might be able to provide an Ashdown part that is compatible.
  5. The year I was born.... ....However I was born on 28th December so was only alive for three days of it...would this be my YOB?
  6. He was definitely on the bill but wasn't the opening act Ruby Turner??? One of my friends was in jail with one of the Campbell brothers many years ago so we often get back stage/ free entry. Rumour has it that there was a Tesco carrier bag full of weed lying about backstage for people to help themselves to. It had all gone by the time we got backstage at the end of the night. Must say that Astro's mother in law is a lovely lady...
  7. I was surprised by the quality of the M2000 Tribute I own - certainly doesn't feel like a sub £400 bass - yes, people cite that Leo is reported to have said that the G&Ls are the best basses he'd ever built but you don't believe them do you...until you try one Probably true...
  8. I saw UB40 at "UB40 plays the Blues" at Birmingham City's football stadium. On the bill were The Pogues who, though I had heard of, hadn't really taken serious notice of. They were brilliant - crowd was going mental with fans from all sorts of musical genre dancing and cheering. Opened my eyes (or should that be "ears").
  9. I can empathise...people who are "definite" buyers, people who make low ball offers and those who are doing you a favour by making those low ball offers. The reason I sell here primarily is because most buyers are reliable and trust worthy. However there are many on BC in a similar situation - too much equipment, looking to downsize to a limited amount of potential buyers. I'm considering looking at other venues to sell.
  10. Great price...Almost worth learning to play left handed...
  11. I'm sure I'm not alone in lusting after, what must currently be, the best looking amp for sale on this forum. Monster tones too!! I'm hoping that my own AH300 12 will be winging it's way back to me in the not too distant future so I leave the door open for another fortunate TE owner to be to snap this up. Remember, the heads themselves are a very manageable 12kg, an easy one hand lift. GLWTS
  12. Venue: Breaks Manor Link Drive Hatfield AL10 8TP http://www.breaksmanor.org/howtofindus.html
  13. My sincere thanks go out to those who attended in the past. However we pulled the last one due to, what felt like, a lack of interest. A lot of work goes into these events (as those who arrange their own, will testify) and it sometimes feels like a thankless job. Despite this a number of local BCers are again (for our sins) considering putting on another event, probably the same location and all the proceeds going to that venue, a local Youth Club. Date to be arranged pending sufficient interest. We do need a minimum attendance to pay for the cost of the venue, etc - in the past both I and @bassface2k10 have put our own money into making the event a success. Unfortunately, Chris is nolonger playing bass and I can't afford to bankroll the event so it is important that there is sufficient interest to justify the cost and effort involved. I've spoken to a well known cab manufacturer who has shown interest in supporting the event, bringing in their wares and speaking about equipment in development. We'll probably arrange a further speaker and have some fun and games with some gear orientated test/seminars. Initially we want to gauge interest and the best dates. So input please before we commit to booking the venue, speakers and arrange catering. Interested???
  14. Acquired this for the project I work for. I don't feel like the organisation is committed to the project so I'm clearing out some of the gear I bought. Some acoustic guitars available in the next few weeks. Here is a P/J bitza I bought. Nice bass for what it is. Nice neck (24 frets), well balanced, the usual blab. However..somebody in the past has done a number on the electronics...all the wires are soldered to the volume pot so you can't adjust the tone (see the pictures). Beyond my ability and toolkit. Also there's no cover for the electronic cavity Somebody, I'm sure, can put this right in no time. Collection preferred or delivery at your expense.
  15. I had one - nice bass, and as @Machines says, "Proper stingray killer". My issue with it was the God awful "bridge"....was this designed to span the Mersey or something?? For me, it spoilt what was otherwise a really nice bass..
  16. More praise for the fellas down at Ashdown... After hunting high and low for a replacement power board for my Trace Elliot AH300 without any success I went back to Guy at Ashdown who had advised me to go back to him if the leads he had put me onto didn't pan out. Guy was able to put together a power board which would fit the TE meaning that I was able to get it working again. I then spoke to Dave Green at Ashdown who ironed out the finances involved and he is sending the relevant part to my Amp Tech (Mal Crawley in Stevenage) [email protected] Phone 07549658595 Home 139 Lonsdale Road, , Stevenage, , Herts SG1 5DF, Part goes out on Monday, should be with Mal on Tuesday. Smooth transaction with knowledgeable craftsmen. Can't say enough good things about them. If you're reading this fellas, Many thanks...
  17. Can I just say, that in the future, if anybody was looking for some reference for one of these basses that information is nolonger available... Not very helpful..
  18. @Richard R, I've a good mind to report you to the Mods for your last comment..😉😉
  19. Don't listen to him...buy whatever you want...whether you need it or not...
  20. I wish that I hadn't looked again...tempted!!! So much for thinning the herd..
  21. You do realise that we'll all be checking the alignment of all our basses now.... I hate you all!!!
  22. Lovely timber...you can leave it here when it's finished if you like..
