  2. I really love the idea of this, I had been hoping for a new ME series Bass specific release, but why does it have to be SO massive?! I think I am still highly likely to buy one, but here's what I thought they should've done... Small sturdy platform, with real foot switches for each effect, much like an HX Effects in layout? Option for an external expression pedal, to keep the size down. One comprehensive set of knobs, which map to whichever effect you are editing, without having dual purposes assigned to multiple knobs. Decent display telling you what you are editing and what the knobs do, per effect. I guess what I'm describing here is kind of a mashup between the Boss ME 90B, an HX Effects and maybe the Zoom B6? I love how far multi effects have come, but why oh why do they have to be SO fiddly and often require hooking up to a computer to get the best out of them? Playing music should be fun and free, it shouldn't require us to be shackled to a computer screen... Anyway, as you were. I expect I'll have a NPB post soon enough Eude
  3. Just bought a wonderful Sire v7 fretless. This has come with a set of Daddario chromes flatwounds, but I intend to use light rounds on this bass due to hand issues, which I I've bought so these are surplus. Gauge 45- 132 beefy B string, they'll fit any jazz/p style/musicman 5. They've been used (but not much) so settled but still full of life, the silks are immaculate and as new. £35 posted to your door (uk only)
  4. Ironical, isn't it.....:) Maybe I should start a Britannia-a group...we could play stuff that is vaguely British, or English, or, heck maybe even Irish...oh and French cause 1066....
  5. Well, by the sound of it there'll be plenty of wood shavings for me to eat anyway....
  6. The Baby Quasar, is the Analog phase part of the mighty Quasar (without the extra digital bells and whistles) It's a very versatile 4 stage Phaser, with control over the centre frequency which should be standard on all phasers, as well as resonance and depth/rate. It can do the warm phase 90 thing, but also can have a very bright aggressive sound, which works perfectly with fuzz, it has a very wide range . It can also run up to 12v for extra headroom, very cool phaser indeed, I've tried loads of others and this is my favourite, just need to unlock a bit of cash. It has a bit of the wording worn off, but other than that in good condition, very small pedal in a pretty palma violet colour. Comes with the original Box
  7. Oof, you don't see these every day! The FEA comps really are the top tier of pedal compressors. Very Small operation in the US hence why many won't have heard of them (compared to origin) theres a very long waiting list for these currently.
  8. Blimey, they’re clapping on two and four!
  9. Willing to listen to decent offers 👍🏼
  10. Hi. It’s from 2001. Not sure about Warwick’s different necks/dates, but the nut (just replaced with a brand new genuine brass one) is 38.5mm. Feels petty skinny and fast to me, but then I play a fiver mostly. cheers.
  11. Having just watched this video, I have to agree with the above. Part of buying a legit vintage instrument includes the process of taking it apart and identifying the ages of the parts in order to date the instrument. So a collector (which I’m not) would look at the dates stamped on the pots and assume that it’s all original, adding to the collectibility and value. This bass does not now contain all of its original parts, and worse still would fool a collector into believing it has. Does it matter in terms of playing this instrument? No. Does it matter to the collectibility and value of the bass? Yes. All depends what the owner wants, as it’s his bass, but, as we’re all only temporary custodians of the instruments in our care, it makes life difficult for the future keepers of these instruments.
  12. I remember Kay guitars being sold in Woolco in the 70's lol.
  13. Sounds great in this video, tasteful playing too. GLWTS.
  14. PRICE DROP – NOW £130 Excellent condition. This totally transparent compressor allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the ten, highly-visible gain-reduction status LEDs. Only £150. Collection from East London preferred. May ship at buyer expense.
  15. The RC3 Loop Station is surprisingly user friendly. Enjoy up to three hours of stereo recording time, storage for 99 loops, a “real drums” rhythm guide, auto-quantise technology and USB 2.0 compatibility all in a small BOSS stomp box. The RC3 offers auto-rerecord or plain playback looping, meaning that you can choose between layering another pass as soon as you’ve finished recording the first take, or just playing the recording back. With the aux in jack and the ability to slow loops down without changing pitch, you’ve got a formidable practice tool in the RC-3. Comes boxed with stickers and things… Only £90.00. Collection preferred from London E2. May post at buyer expense.
  16. Exactly this ^^^^ Add to this the predictable, dissenting commentary from whomever the BBC employ, makes it even more contrived.
  17. Search for... Thank You, Goodnight It's still there
  18. I think Envelope Filters are quite niche, even within Funk and Pop, and very rare for Bass Players within Rock, Metal, Punk, Reggae, Ska, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Country etc. They are good fun though so I expect they are used a lot at home, or sit there on boards just waiting for the day they can be used live for a small part of one song! I was talking to someone the other day about pedals and he didn't know what an Envelope Filter is, and he's been playing Bass in pub bands for about 30 years. I'd guess pedal popularity goes something like: Tuner, Drive, EQ, Compressor, DI/Preamp, Chorus, Octaver, Phaser, Loopers, and Envelope Filter pretty low down - just above things like Synth, Delays and Reverb. There was a video from somewhere like Scott's Bass Lessons years ago that stuck with me though: it said the first pedal anyone should get (after tuner) is an Envelope Filter - not because they are useful, but because they are fun, add a different dimension to your sound that keeps you interested in playing, and they can teach a lot about playing dynamics.
  19. Sounded great through my old Barefaced compact. Passive tone controls are a bit counterintuitive to me (if anyone can explain them, like what is flat! I’d be grateful!) but I think it’s a great wee thing.
  20. Epiphone EB3 in great condition in Cherry Red, long scale. Strap pins moved for less neck dive which isn't so bad with a wide strap. Hipshot Bridge fitted for better intonation and sustain. Try out and collection in Poole, Dorset. Can courier in good box at cost. Thanks.
  21. Today
  22. With the cross-proliferation of media and regular exposure to other cultures and languages, the prospect of being surprised by Latvian quirkiness is probably unlikely. The last few post-covid cancellation editions have had a few very listenable songs sprinkled throughout but last night was a bit of a stinker, I thought, musically. Still entertaining, but there wasn't a song I'd ever want to hear in the future. Roll on tomorrow, though. We go again 😁
