  2. "Critics say bluntly, “Well, nobody’s forcing them”. But test that logic and there is simply no Glastonbury any more. “Unsustainable” is a word used a lot in private. '
  3. bought an amp from davy top man quick delivery no issues
  4. None of them are forced to work or perform there. I'm local to the festival an know loads of people who work there every year. Most do it just for the ticket. My daughter is working for a friend and getting really decent pay but performing for free.
  5. @Linus27 caught in the act!
  6. You just beat me to @BigRedX. Absolutely right.
  7. Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
  8. Ah I've just seen it as well. The new seller has been discussed on here quite a bit.
  9. Weight is 9.2 lbs according to the bathroom scales.

  11. the most important question I think is "what brings you joy" - I sold my C4 as the UX/UI was not fun. I rebought the HX stomp as I enjoy using it and it sounds good.
  12. Does it matter having a "transparent" amp when the cab(s) are likely to be introducing far more colour to your sound.
  13. Today
  14. We have a periodic debate about The Piano on stage. It's large, awkward, and doesn't sound as good in the mix as the keyboard which was bought with piano-weighted keys etc etc. However one lady will only play the piano and not the keys, we host music exams who require a piano, and for small funerals where a piano is enough then we don't need a sound tech. So it's still on the stage.
  15. Can You Dig It? - The Mock Turtles
  16. I have 2 Sandberg superlights, 4 and a 5, and a Spector RST, all under 6.6lbs…absolute joyous and sound great IMO…helped with shoulder and back pain tremendously. For the rig I’m using a Markbass Pure 4ohm 2x10 and an Elf, again superlight and pretty decent sound. Just made a really nice Paulowina P bass which is 7lbs…really chuffed how it came out with a lovely light roasted neck off eBay…total cost around £300 with Geezer Emg.
  17. Good God, that looks like it's been through a war! I LOVE it!
  18. (Breathes a huge sigh of relief).
  19. Something a bit different last night, with two rather different featured bands - Aquavit (fronted by a Danish lady) doing jazz and a brass ensemble, the Drayton Brassets, doing various songs like I'm a believer, Take on me, 9-5, and a couple of Bruno Mars songs. I had a few accompaniment slots too - including for one guitarist who started coming to these open mics a few weeks ago playing acoustic, and has now shifted to electric (and very good he is too). And nobody shouted "Judas!" either.
  20. I like to think that if nothing else, I am consistent
  21. Well after dropping 600 quid on the skirt I'd asume you'll be going shoeless, pantless and everythign else-less!
  22. I think I went about 12 years in total spread between 1985 and 2002. Good times. This won't be news to anyone on here, but the Independent has an informative article about how Glasto is squeezing artists and workers. https://archive.ph/e8ump
  23. Going Underground - The Fruit Preserve
  24. I worked at Automatic Telephones on Edge Lane whilst going to engineer school. While playing for Earl Preston's Reflections I met the girl who became my wife at a venue somewhere off Queens Drive called Nalgo on June 6TH 1968. Earl Preston, real name George Spruce, was a Merseybeat personality. LOL
  25. I made space on my pedal board for an HX One. It replaced my Xotic Bass RC Booster and the pedal I thought I'd never sell, my Creation Audio Grizzy. So I now have 5 pedals sitting around doing not a lot and a hankering for a Stomp Creation Audio Grizzly. £140 Flattley Poison Ivy Fuzz £90 Black Country Custom The 85 Octave £85 Xotic Bass RC Booster £65 TC Electronics 3rd Dimension Chorus £25 All in excellent condition. All boxed except for the Grizzly (I will keep looking). Velcro'd as per the photos. Peter
