  1. Past hour
  2. Currently using the Super Slinkys on my Fender 5 string and like them very much.
  3. Again and Again - Quo
  4. Or, in meme terms
  5. Very cool!
  6. How is this piece of perfection still here?
  7. Sounds like it cuts through really well. Liking your 'snappy' finger style sound - do you have any dynamically gentle examples as well?
  8. Cranborne thump settings sounds killer. BTW I just picked up an MS-60B+, and its emulation of the BDDI v2 is bang-on.
  9. I think they must have locked in a price for the first batch and prices went up following this.
  10. I removed the top section of the tripod, covered the teeth in gaffa to prevent scratching, et voila!
  11. Thanks @bigthumb, it really is a beauty and a proper professional finish, and now playing much better. If you don't mind a higher action than 2.5-3mm I really don't think you would need to do anything to it. But it deserves the love of someone. I put 3 years into this bass project and would love to see it played by a new owner.
  12. I have owned one of these in the past. Don't be put off by the shape - I found mine surprisingly ergonomic - it balances well and the top edge of the body formed what I can only describe as a "shelf" for my forearm to rest on. Really quite pleasant playing experience, and sounded good too. I felt enriched and enlightened by the experience of owning and playing one. And yes, you feel like a bloomin' rock god when you're playing it - you will throw shapes and pull faces. GLWTS!
  13. U.K. postage is around 70 on Shiply so would let this go for £400 delivered Thanks
  14. Decided to sell individually as well as possible job lot(s) £120 for all 14 pads or £15 each plus postage. Thanks
  15. Price Drop to £150.
  16. I don't get the urge to make amps look pristine but make guitars look relic'd. I love the look of a relic"d amp. Amps have a far harder life than guitars on the road. This one looks superb. I'd leave as is. GLWTS
  17. Repeat - Manic Street Preachers
  18. This 'definitely' (probably) my last Sandberg!
  19. Right on!
  20. This is an incredible phaser and there is probably a very, very small number in the UK and likely Europe!
  21. Your main trouble is the nature of the electronics in a JC. The pickup is low impedance, it uses a transformer tapped at various points to make the signal up to the levels required (that's what the rotary switch is controlling) and the pots are weird values like 2.5k - you can't just stick any old pickup in there because it won't work, or at least won't work properly. Coupled with the fact that mounting pickups in a hollow body bass is a lot trickier than a solid body or even a seml-hollow bass (because you are limited to pickups which can be suspended from a pickup ring) and you will perhaps understand why you don't see a lot of JCs out there with added pickups. I'm not saying it can't be done, but you're either going to have to source a second JC pickup (good luck with that) or some other low impedance pickup, or have completely separate electronics for the second pickup from pickup to jack, or you'd have to gut the whole bass and start from scratch. To that end, Mama pickups in Italy make a drop in replacement pickup for the JC, a traditional high impedance pickup which could be a starting point for a complete, ground up rewiring and at least mean you don't have to worry about finding something to fit the existing hole. Good luck whatever you decide to do, but for most people, changing the bridge or tuners on a JC is as brave as they're willing to go.
  22. I restrung the Squier P bass last night. I replaced the Fender flats with some Ernie Ball Super Slinky rounds. There is a change in tension, not huge but noticeable. I've always used D'Addario in the past, but I really like these EBs. For rounds you don't seem to get a lot of finger noise and they feel quite smooth for. For what I'm doing now, I think I'll stick with rounds.
