  2. Derek Watkins - The James Bond Trumpet Legend!! He was truly one of a kind, a super musician from the golden age of British session musicians.
  3. Found some bargain Roland drum parts on marketplace and wondered if a kind BCer could collect, pay the cash (£150), box up and post to me using Evri Tbe 270 mile trip would kinda negate the bargain price for me ! Thanks in advance
  4. I played a Wal for over 30 years. It was pretty much my first bass. In all that time I never played a Fender. I got a Jazz a few years ago and absolutely love it and can’t believe it took me so long to discover. Mind you I had it PLEKd, fitted a new nut, changed the pickups, electronics, bridge and machine heads to make it my perfect bass. 😂😂
  5. I Feel For You - Chaka Khan
  6. As above. This is a 2019 model. Great condition. A few very small blemishes which I’ve tried to picture but are really hard to catch on camera and can’t really be seen unless intentionally looking. (2 on top horn, one near bridge and one or two very little ones near the control plate) Also a little bit of bucklerash as this has been gigged for a year or so but nothing major. No noticeable marks to my eyes on the headstock. Really nice bass. Hipshot tuners which I’m not sure whether or not are standard but they’re on there since I bought it… Recently (3 weeks ago) professionally set up with EB Medium Slinkies. with a slight fret dress, so it’s a really nice low action with no high spots or choking. Honestly, plays like butter, whatever that plays like! I’ve also had the pickup cavity and pick guard copper shielded at the same time so it no longer has that pesky Mustang Hum. Only selling because try as I might, I just can’t seem to make it work for me. The split coil pickup which the Mustang is famous for sounds awesome but I can’t make it fit in my main gig and find myself craving more ‘honk’ that comes from having a bridge pickup. Comes with a full size bass hard case which I’ve adapted to fit the short scale with some wood & foam. Works a treat. Also comes with Schaller S Locks. And, I think I’ve got an old set of Fender flatwounds cut to fit it which I’ll chuck in. The original strap pins are also in the case and I can knock £20 off if you don’t want the Schallers. I can also include the Fender strap for an additional £10. Looking for £650 collected from TF5 where I have very nice coffee and a biscuit or 2 available, and a nice amp you can try through. Or, i think i have a box and can pack up if you wanted to organise a courier. And… I can potentially meet within about 30-40 mins of TF5 . Will consider trades/part trades for short scales especially a Fender Japan Junior Jazz Bass or Gibson Jr Les Paul Tribute, and potentially 5 strings. But, sale is preferred so happy to see what you’ve got. Thanks in advance. Alex

  7. I have a Zoom B1 Four and simply cannot update - and I would really like to get the high pass filter I can get in the update (not included as default). I can download the file, but when I try to,load it into the Zoom, the pedal just don’t respond. Other members in here in the same situation, or do you have a solution? Cheers fra Denmark
  8. Man, I Feel Like a Woman - Shania Twain
  9. Update. Got a kit from Amazon for £7 and used the 6.5mm plug cutter and it did the job fine so thanks for all the suggestions.
  10. I’ve owned a couple of these and they are bloody decent basses, top quality all rounder. I’d have it if I wasn’t in the process of selling a bass. Good luck
  11. I never played one of the older ones, so I can’t compare it to those, but it’s a very good B string - I’ve not given it a lot of thought which is a very good sign, I generally only think about the B string on a bass when it’s farty and dull every time you play a note, and this definitely isn’t the case here. Like everything on the bass it’s absolutely spot on, a proper working bassist’s bass. I use the B string a lot, I pretty much live between frets 3-12 on the B and then moving across the bass, and when a B string is crap you can’t do that. I’m pretty sure I’m about to pull this advert anyway and keep it, as the bass I was going to buy has been snapped up, and there’s nothing even close to this at this price point
  12. Today
  13. Yep! Crazy lightweight for an Ash bodied Jazz.
  14. Owned MIM and MIC Fender basses, and I've played a few MIA Fenders at bass bashes and other junctures (such as going to someone's house to buy something), so you can trust me when I tell you with 100% certainty that they're... basses.
  15. In 48 years of gigging and 100+ basses I've had only 3 actual Fenders (though multiple P & J bitsas); a '66 "L" series P, a USA RI '75 J, and an all original '57 P (last of the Tele styled). Unusually on this forum; only 2 of the 3 ex-Beedster....... I still have the '57; I have basses I prefer, but there's always something just a bit special that Leo had a hand in.....
  16. I sold my fender P to Ian, hassle free transanction, fast payment and a gentleman to deal with, Thanks again Ian for a smoooth sale
  17. 35" on the B is better than 34". The E is just over 34" which I think will be a minimal improvement. The rest of the strings are less than 34" which will hopefully make them fuller-sounding so it all makes sense for a Precision vibe. I hope the combination of fanned frets and overall reduced scale length doesn't make the high frets too condensed for the odd chord up there. Regarding the graphic above on playing position v pickup angles - you have to also factor in how close you are to the bridge. I can't help thinking the way to play a DIngwall is to adapt a technique which moves forward as you switch to the higher strings.
  18. Hey Paddy, How's the B string on this? I believe the 2025 models (which includes the Fired Red and Indigo Blue) had a bit of a tweak here and there so may have improved the B??? Slightly subjective subject as there was quite a marked difference of opinion regarding the B! I've not seen any reviews of the newer model as yet so I'm sure chatters would appreciate your view buddy! Regards Gaucho
  19. In short: Chickenbackers.
  20. Price drop - £295 It says it's an EastCoast but it is identical in every way to the Stagg version, so I assume they were made in the same factory at the same time. Very good condition. Comes with arm rest, stand, case, bow and roisin. Since injuring my hand earlier this year it's too difficult for me to play now, so I'm hoping someone else can make use of it.
