I was looking for a second PBass to use alongside my Player II Nearly went Squier but decided to try out these new Standed series It’s a nice bass and fretwork and neck is lovely to play. Noticeable difference in tone from the ceramic pickups in as much as it’s brighter and clearer sounding, less warm and vintage and more modern Set up out of the box was decent apart from pickups were not set slanted to match neck profile etc Slight tweek on truss rod and she was playing sweetly Wasn’t sure about the Olympic White colour as it’s more cream than white but it quickly grew on me. I did own a polar white and I thought it was closer to that but I would say closer to cream Tuners are good and work well as does bridge etc For a £500 bass I think it’s a nice balance of quality, tone and cost. A workhorse gigging bass

Well, marketing is how you sell something, not necessarily how someone uses something - if you found the old ones made good drum machines, you will find that the new ones also still work as very good drum machines. Yes, they do more, but they don't have to if that is what your job is.

Exactly so. Make a shorter neck with the same number of frets, extend the neck pocket a little to accommodate the extra frets, move the pickups a little bit (possibly just the neck pickup), leave all the other gubbins where it is. Reduces production costs and makes for a better balanced bass.

I don't actually mind the simple delivery at all, used it a couple of times now and just dropped off at the local shop. Don't have to worry about charging the customer the right postage amount, buying the right postage, or even really about weighing and measuring it (eBay "guess" based on the item and if they're wrong, they pay the extra postage needed). As a seller I think the changes are for the better, its the buyer protection fee and the confusion that causes with offers etc that is the real issue for me.

Always. Its been either the band isn't busy enough, the standard has dropped, or the musical direction has changed significantly from what it started out as. However, I've always found another band to play in and had a few rehearsals and at least one gig with the new band before leaving. Don't want to jump out of the fire and into the frying pan. Currently looking for a new band due to lack of gigs and a complete lack of interest from a couple of the other band members.

I've had no problems with the vibrato on either of my Squier VIs, nor has the string spacing ever bothered me, but that's just personal preference. -
I've got a Double Trolley by Marc Grue. I got it broken and have mended it to be in usuable condition. I found this unusable, where the wheels were bent, and the wheel frame did no fit the stool, and the latch under the seat snapped and a few other problems. I've put a new latch on and rebent the frame, cleaned it up and tighten some loose parts so that it is in good working condition. I've have tried and tested a couple of times going to and from, and at rehearsals. This is a trolley which helps move your bass around and conveniently doubles up as a stool. Tyres hold pressure, and will require a bungee to fasten to your bass. Having previously moderated an internet forum I can quite categorically state that it can be a monumental ball-ache, so thanks very much to the guys who give their free time to herd the cats, push the fog up the ditch and plait the yoghurt in order to make BC the welcoming, friendly and wallet-hazardous community that it is.

There's ur problem. As the band get louder you need to reduce bass and push mids, almost to the point where it sounds weedy and crap on stage...however out there in the room it'll be punchin thru.

I saw this the other day and despite being a huge U2 and Adam fan, sadly all the basses are way out of my price range. I'd love the Sherwood Green Jazz or the Lakland Darryl Jones Jazz.

The Sadowsky Will Lee Jazz is gorgeous! I had no idea he even played sadowsky basses? I also notice quite a few of his Warwick basses are getting moved on. It will be interesting to see if he starts playing any new basses next year.
