  2. Btw, Audacity (free software) let you do a plenty of stuff to the song.. In the Effect drop down menu there is a section ,,EQ & Filters,, -> LOW or HIGH Pass filter. Can't remember which i used but happy with the result.. Can loop too. Audacity
  3. For years, I coud sing, or I could play bass. I could do these things individually quite well, but putting them together was a different story. For me, it's all about subdividing rhythms. Learning which beats the vocal parts and the bass fall on. If you're just plugging straight eighths on a simple progression, you should have no problem since there's a bass note on every beat, but, once you start making it a bit more rhythmically complex, with gaps and different length notes, you have to start thinking about where the bass part and vocal intersect and diverge, and you practice the hell out of those bits. Just to get the basics down, play ham-fisted, thumb around the neck, and use a pick since it's a bit easier to keep the rhythm. Then refine from there - put your fretting hand into the proper position, drop the pick (unless you don't want to), and start putting the gaps in, while keeping the vocal part consistent. Don't be afraid to look at the neck, but not all the time as your head won't be in a good position to sing (chin up, loosen that jaw!). I'm not there yet, and I'm still far from Geddy territory, but I'm much better at it than I used to be, and this is what's helped for me.
  4. I guess we should never underestimate the 'density' of some humans...
  5. Yesterday
  6. The flame maple on this Vigier is truly stunning!! Just the greatest basses in my humble opinion.. An absolute steal of a price too!! GLWTS😃🤟
  7. Perhaps it's on the basis that it's not exactly rectangular, but does it say in the T&C that all sides must be parallel? It's not exactly wildly away from being a rectangle.
  8. In March I sent a bass via Interparcel/Parcelforce and used a heavy duty bicycle box (130cm x 40cm x 20cm if I remember correctly) with no extra charges.
  9. I think it depends on your ears and the style of earplug. I have no issue getting a good seal with ordinary 'three cup' earplugs.
  10. Built to withstand nuclear attack this flight was will protect and survive. Well toured but locks still works perfectly and everything fits together like it should Exterior 60 x 53 x 17 cm Interior (Lids Off) 45 x 48 x 13.5
  11. I fitted plain washers to my B2 about 40 years ago, and more recently to my Jack V. Still a bit of annoying stiction when you first turn the tuners (although these are the only bases I've ever encountered that can stay in tune for over a year!) You've inspired me, so I've ordered ten thrust bearings for £6 from eBay, that will leave me one spare!
  12. Anyone reading this needs to get proper moulded ones. Saving 100 quid to use plugs which are not guaranteed to seal is asking for trouble. Every one of us who has tinnitus/top end loss/hyperacusis (sp?)/something else would spend that 100 quid without blinking to make their hearing right. Most of us would spend 10 or 20 times that. But we cannot. Once the damage is done, it is game over. No one sits there listening to their ears whine/grumble/rumble or just not work and thinks "so glad I saved the cost of 3 sets of strings". Do it right first time. I am not pointing at anyone who is using anything else.
  13. Yup. I'd like this. PMd.....
  14. tis a thing of beauty but I currently have 3 Adam basses in my aresnal interstingly I don't actually have a jazz bass at all
  15. Every single interaction I’ve had with ParcelFarce has been negative. Wouldn’t use them if it was free to do so.
  16. might be a g3, but just trying to justify it. Im playing the ripper a lot recently, so its the same feel with a different sound. I’ll entertain offers on this 51 though…the Yamaha has sold and I’ve had 2 messages about the Danelectro so I’m hoping I can make space in the rack. Id love to live in a world where I could keep them all…but I’d need a spare house.
  17. Lignite my fire. The Doors
  18. Hi Tim The bass weight is 9.2 lbs very reasonable and well balanced i will Pm you
  19. When our band kicked off a couple of years ago, the premise was that every member ( 5 of us ) had to sing lead vocals on various tracks, mainly because we didnt have a front man. Only 3 members had sung lead before. I wasnt one of then, so i had to get stuck in. Not easy so i found out, and it depended on what bass line i was paying at the time. But it worked out ok cos i kept at it, and had around 5 tracks to sing lead on. Just practice , there's no magic.
  20. Who doesn't like a big shiny knob or two, eh?
  21. That markbass is listed as fretted btw
  22. I’ve got one of these buttons somewhere if you want it? (free obvs)
  23. Strange. Parcel Farce used to state in their T&C's that they dont insure guitars, though they will still accept your parcel, but wont pay out if damaged or lost. Have their excluded items changed to now accept guitars
  24. What kinda Gibson would that be Andy...
